I had a major realization and wanted to share with you! My priorities have been husband, then children, then everyone else, then me. I didn't consciously arrange them that way but, anytime I was asked to examine my priorities I would pat myself on the back. I was putting others first and being totally selfless, just like Jesus!

In reality, my priorities were way out of whack. I wasn't being selfless by being lazy and not taking the time to really examine my motives. Jesus was not a spineless, resentful doormat!

When I put myself first I feel energized to take care of everyone else. My marriage is healthier when I'm taking care of myself rather than wishing my SO would fill my bottomless pit of need. He and I are a packaged deal so when I'm a mess I'm dragging him down too. I can set a better example for my little girls.

So, today, I gave myself a pedicure (I could have hung from a tree with my disgusting toenails). And I'm going to clean my room while the babes are napping.

I'm so glad I'm figuring this out now and no longer pulling the wool over my own eyes :)
