One thing I didn’t realize was a deal breaker was a man who doesn’t get defensive and throw a fit when you point out that he’s wrong.

If he’s an engineer and I’m a school teacher and I share my opinion on early childhood education, he shouldn’t steam roll it with uninformed opinions just because he has “a smart person job”

I date nerds so I’ve encountered this a lot. I have to run circles around them logically in an argument for my expertise to be trusted in a subject he has no experience or interest in.

Dump’d. Men interested in actual self improvement > men who want to feel smart 100% of the time

A bad character— they are nice when it suits them, selfish, have a negative view of everything, vengeful etc. Also if they lack emotional intelligence

I think it's important that you tailor your dealbreakers to yourself. Best way to do that is to have a vision of the life you want, the values you think are important and even the silly stuff. For example, one of my "silly" dealbreakers is not liking cats. Another one that's not silly but very personal is alcoholism. My father was one and I won't re-live what my mother (and me) went through. I let my boyfriend know quite early on that if he ever has a problem with alcohol I'll do my best to help him while it's still feasible for me but I won't hesitate to bail. Once he went to a wedding and came home around 5am really reallyyyy drunk. When I woke up, his smell brought back very unpleasant memories and I couldn't be near him. I trust him to not become a alcoholic but we never know, and at least he's informed that I have a very low threshold in that department.

I've dated an abusive prick for 8 months and these are the real read flags (run if you see them) : love bombing (telling you generic shit about how you are different that everyone else, you're soulmates blabla), make things go very fast, being very sensitive/butthurt about small stuff. Another stuff that he did but it's not that general : hating the whole world, appear awesome in front of my friends, very good at gift giving and making me feel special

I have a sensitive nose. Smoking would be an absolute no.

Obvious stuff like addictions, abuse, unjustified crimes (sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do though), lack of attraction or respect.

I couldn't be with a man who didn't want kids. Against all RPW advice I would sooner be alpha widowed and have kids with second best, than not have a family. I thankfully lucked out, but I have known all my life I wanted a family.

Religious differences. I wouldn't be with a man who didn't at least accept mine and leave me be, and I wouldn't be with a man whose religious habits and plans I considered a problem (like child genital mutilation).

I never really dated as such, but I had kind of boyfriendish guys that weren't suitable. No big wrongs with them, just... meh.

Intelligence. Shouldn’t be too stupid because then I won’t be able to talk to them about things I like but also not too smart as I’ll feel too intimidated. I like it a little beneath mine so I can explain things, look smart and feel admired.

If he's ever wanted/had a threesome in the past. I can't deal with someone whose proclivities are not toward monogamy.

Also, if he's ever cheated..for the same reason.

EDIT: I don't have a past with this, sorry. It's just a deal-breaker I have always held.

If he wanted to tell kids that God is real, that's a dealbreaker.
Not being a dominant, masculine force in my life (and future masculine role model to children)
Not agreeing for me to homeschool
Using aggression and punishment/reward system with children

Trust issues. Lots of guys who seem like alphas have them. They'll just keep questioning you repeatedly on your every action and eventually try to have a chokehold on your life in lieu of fixing their insecurities
