The study really wasn't specific in which person in the relationship was more unhappy.

I have a hard time accepting that any man would be upset about having his sex doubled with Zero effort on his part, but maybe that is just me.

I could see a lot of women being upset about having to double the output, especially in a classic post wall married to a bb.

I could see a lot of women being happy about having their sex life doubled with Chad Thundercock on the side of the marriage, especially with no consequences. That's not a rub on women. I am sure most married men wouldn't complain about having their sex life doubled on the side with Katy Perry( or their equivalent).

It's really a Shitty study that doesn't seem to factor in general happiness with the marriage to begin with. If your fucking miserable in the marriage and your partner, all the sex in the world isn't going to make it happy.

You can't negotiate desire, whether it's with BB or AF, it doesn't matter, the quickest way to turn off attraction is to tell a woman "you must have more sex". It's like asking for a kiss.

Real men don't need to be told to have more sex, they just do it, as much and whenever they want.

I disagree. Sex is like any quantity: scarcity is an issue, but abundance becomes moot past a certain point and can begin causing its own issues. Same with money: not enough for food, shelter and essentials? Major problem. Have enough for a reasonably comfortable lifestyle? Great. Now beware you don't do foolish things with the surplus you have

Happiness is a synonym for contentment. If you always want more you're never happy. You have to learn to balance it with ambition. Have realistic goals, and keep adjusting

Yep, I've had more sex than just about any other point in my life over the past year. But now things with the three girls I've been with are starting to get a little tenuous and I'm absolutely going to have to prune the tree. I'm getting pretty tired of dealing with the constant shit tests and bitching that I'm not giving any one enough attention.

Greater availability of sex increases happiness.

Damn I could've told you this myself as a fucking adolescent. If you value sex that much, you need to reevaluate yourself. Increasing your self value should be what makes you happy, which should increase your availability of sex, not the other way around.

A lot of people here, having been betas for so long, pedestalize sex. They still see it as the final goal which completely misses the point of TRP. You aren't getting better to fuck more bitches. You're getting better to fulfill yourself. People forget the fact that "If you build it, they will come".

[–]BlackHeart890 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Its cool to want a greater purpose in life. To be focused on improving your self value and what not.

But me.. I'm a simple dude. Give me freedom to do what I want, when I want, and a plethora of pretty pussy and I'm good.

It just so happens that I personally want the physique of a god and the strength to go with it. Plus freedom requires money and all these things come before the bitches. You know... Because the bitches follow.

I value sex a lot. And the more I get, the happier I will be. But it does cap off at a certain point. Fucking women isn't paying my bills.

LOL! This study asked couples who were already tired of fucking each other to have even more ball & chain sex, and the results were shocking! Shocking, I tell you!

What a fucking joke! How about taking a guy who is having sex once a month and setting him up with a new hot chick every night. Oh, I'm sure he'd be plunged into deep depression.

It's essentially like Quality Control in a company: it doesn't generate revenue for the company, but it's a necessity to ensure that things run a little bit more smoothly.

I couldn't help but notice that the study only targeted monogamous couples. That seems a bit flawed. Also, you can't just tell two people to have more sex and think that's going to work / fix their issues / make them happier.

Married loser gets TWO dead eyed starfish sex "dates" a year instead of ONE.

increased dopamine through fast reward activities leads to down-regulated dopamine in the brain. sex addiction, porn addiction, video game addiction, internet addiction, gambling addiction.. etc.

not unlike tolerance to alcohol. so you need the fix more often to feel normal. this is basic neurochemsitry.

sure it feels good, you are hitting reward circuits in the brain. same as drinking, or anything else that surges dopamine. taken too far, you can develop problems. everything in moderation.

Good post. But you should use capital letters when appropriate.

More sex may not lead to increased happiness, but zero sex leads to increased unhappiness in the large majority of men.

More food may not lead to increased happiness, but zero food leads to increased unhappiness in the large majority of humans.

More air may not lead to increased happiness, but zero air leads to increased unhappiness in the large majority of humans.

They seek to minimize your basic humanity and maleness. Be aware.

Poorly designed experiment. Their userbase was already having sex. The increase in frequency was a result of adhering to the experiment, rather than any desire from either party.

Men want a variety of sex partners, and frequent, enthusiastic sex with the most attractive partners. This experiment controlled for none of that.

It's like any other resource, really.

Take money. If you don't have any, you're going to be in rough shape and pretty miserable (assuming you live in a civilized society). If you're really poor, you're probably a little happier, but not much. If you're able to completely support yourself, you'll be much happier than the people struggling to eat and pay bills (this demographic gets the largest increase in happiness relative to money). If you have more money than that, you may be happier because you can afford some luxuries in your life like eating out, TV, vacations, etc.

But an interesting thing happens after that. After your subsistence is covered, and you can afford some degree of luxury, there is a diminished return on the benefit of attaining more luxuries. The more luxuries you have, the less benefit you will get from any additional luxuries. What's another car or house to Donald Trump?

Sex is the same way. If you're starving for it, more of it will make you happier. If you aren't, the more sex you have, the less return on sex you will get.

I could have told you that from experience. But it does boost self-esteem for guys that have a harder time. In the end, though, like all transient pleasures, it is hollow.

Bullshit. Nothing compares to the high you get after having sex, the next day or two even feel great.
