Standard masculinity bashing. Woe is women. Who are forced to choose between good looking, masculine men, and ugly comfortable men.

Because as we all know, all hot, masculine men are unreliable, abusive assholes. The article just assumes masculine men are bad men without even having to say it out loud. Like it's just a given. Like women wanting masculine men is automatically bad.

The problem with all these studies is that they are mired in a few murky problems:

The authors are invariably trying to prove that Women Are Wonderful, invoking endless hamstering to try and prove that women are both superior to men and simultaneously needing male support. Any research running contrary to this gets researchers fired.
Women outright lie to themselves and to others when questioned on anything that might expose their dualistic mating strategy. "Of course I don't like masculine men, I like dadbods" she says, trying to keep the memory of last night's Chad encounter to herself.
All females are assumed equal for these studies, regardless of eg how fat they are, how attractive, their sexual preferences etc.

I no longer give two shits about the plight of men anymore.

Simply because that would mean I never changed, I formed a group identity off of the misandry we have today, rather than using it to identify what I should do differently to not be a victim of it. My life is much better now that I revoke permission to myself to sit and cry about “muh menz rights”

Studies like this please me, nothing reinforces nature’s horrible whims than a study directly highlighting characteristics that make a man attractive. I will be living in a new place soon, with a good friend of mine, there will be much lifting and toxic masculinity in this household.

This article precisely shows how women are accepted as they are and they are not held responsible for their actions. On the other hand, if males dare to have preferences, it's explained by some underlying biases: cultural conditioning and the overall "meanness" of males.

In some sense, this is ironically misogynistic because women are assumed to have lesser free will.
