I'm really hit or miss when it comes to social situations. I sometimes feel comfortable and the conversation flows, no matter who is in the group, but other times I feel very out of place. I'm not great with small talk, but if a topic that I'm passionate about comes up in convo, I have no problem talking about it.
My LTR and I no longer do the bar scenes all that much. I honestly hate being around drunk people and I hate waking up with hang overs (I'm in my 30's now) and I just don't see it worth it. We are going to 2 weddings coming up over the next 2 months and I was hoping some of you can talk about how you handle other guys hitting on your LTR.
I laid down ground rules early in the relationship and I told my LTR I don't care about flirting, but I told her that I'm out if I see him or her touching each other. There's no reason to be hanging on a stranger that you just met (she did it once [she was hammered] in our 3 years of dating and I called her out on it and she immediately apologized and felt terrible. It never happened again.). She knows that's grounds for an instant break up now.
I think I feel most uncomfortable when I'm in a situation where a male is talking to my LTR in front of me. I don't feel jealous or anything (maybe sometimes depending on the situation), but I also don't know how to handle it. I keep remembering the scene in Wolf of Wall Street where Dicaprio is talking to Naomi about jet ski's. I don't want to react like the guy Blair. Blair looks like a total beta bux, pussy fart.
I've read one thing to do is leave the situation and go find other people to talk to or go talk to some girls where my LTR can see, but my game isn't strong enough yet and I feel like I would just fuck it up and look even more uncomfortable to my LTR. Anyone have any great examples of gaming the crowd?
I've also read to challenge the guy hitting on your LTR, the best way being to just get him to talk himself into a hole that he can't get out of. Any tips on how to extract their flaws?
And lastly, I've read to befriend the guy. This I can do, but I think sometimes it can come across as try-hard or weak.
Any tips or stories that anyone can share when they've been in this type of situation?
