I think in today's society (I'm not from the US but I think I can generalize), we have a lot of contradictory trends. I see a lot of "nice guys" with girlfriends from all shades of the attractiveness spectrum (except the very highest), whose girlfriends seem to be mainly gold-diggers and cheat on them in roughly half the cases. But then I see similar "nice guy" couples (the other half) that work just fine. (Of course my SO doesn't comprehend how those could ever work; she's more "red-pill" than me in that sense)

Now my theory on why that is differs from the "Red Pill" stuff. I think the main determinant is not the social status of the "chads" who seduce them, but rather, to put it bluntly, that they know how to fuck (edit: both the chads and the successful nice guys).

Confidence and looks are important for attracting women, but you have to be good in bed to keep them imo. Most guys aren't and most women who participate in hookup culture are disappointed with half the guys, which can also contribute to a form of misandry.

What are your thoughts?
