There is the common idea that, although women love sex, it isn't as important in their lives as it is to me;. Guys in general are also seen as wanting to put their penis in any woman that doesn't repulse them, while women have a reputation as being more selective.

Women don't nessersarily care for sex it's self, but sex with the right man can be as strong of a pull for women as it is for any man.

how similar are men and women in what they want sexually? How much they want it, how big a priority getting it is in their lives, the manner that they get turned on, how easily they get horny, etc? If there are differences, are these differences biological or social-conditioned?

I think there are a lot of aspects to this, AF/BB, hypergamy, Madonna/whore, fuckmommy, assortive mating... This is too broad of a question for one thread if you ask me.

1) Have a man and woman of the same level of attractiveness go into a bar and ask everyone of the opposite sex if they will fuck them.

Not true. My bf/fwb says he has never slept with a woman who was under a 7 in his eyes. Says he'd rather rub one out than go back on his standards of attractiveness. All my friends have also stated that it is not worth it to have sex with a woman who isn't your type.

Every weekend when I'm at the grocery, laundromat, bookstore, etc I see many men I'd fuck. If I didn't have this wretched haphephobia, I could easily see myself having 7 or 8 plates for sex. People say that women find 80% of men to be below average in looks...for me I only see about 30% of men as completely unfuckable, and these are almost exclusively ones who are either obese or muscle bound "bad boys" with tats.

In general, women want sex less than men. This holds true for the majority. There are definite exceptions. I personally want sex numerous times a day, whereas my fwb/bf would be satisfied with only 2x a day.

For most men, it is a very high priority. For most women, the physical act of sex is not a high priority but rather things like emotional connection/intimacy are. For me it is a very high priority because I have PGAD and it's a matter of relief, albeit a temporary one. I also view sex as the physical embodiment of how much I love my fwb/bf...I cherish him deeply, so I want to share the immense pleasures of sex with him all the time. I once drove for 2 hours in a blizzard just to fuck him lol.

I know it's easier for men than women, probably because the majority of women can see a naked man and not get turned on. Even here, almost all the other female commenters have said that dick pics don't do anything to get them wet, whereas I would bet money that 99% of the male commenters here would get at least a semi-erection from a pic of a pussy. I'm turned on 24/7/365, so I can't relate to arousal difficulties, though I do sympathize with people who have them.

Some of them are social and some are biological. The thing I find most interesting is that apparently women can even be aroused but not consciously acknowledge that they are. I have read that the issue with "female Viagra" is that most men/women like myself begin to have sexual thoughts when the physical signs are present...but for most women, even having increased blood flow and wetness to their genitals somehow doesn't equate to fucking in their minds. That, and apparently it's incredibly rare to have guaranteed orgasms for them? I can honestly say that if I didn't know that I'd be 100% sure I'd cum during sex, I'd be less likely to want it too. Again, I have no concept of what that uncertainty would be like, but I sympathize with it and hope that further research will improve the orgasm rate if the typical female.

Intimacy is important to anyone, and sex is just one of the many ways to experience intimacy. Sex by itself isn't necessarily intimate, either. Some people just enjoy sex for the physical pleasure.

I think sexual needs is less about gender, and more about sexual compatibility -- whether asexual, low/high libido, kink-driven, etc

Biologically, there's also the "sexual peak" to consider.

Women enjoy sex. It is a pleasurable act. But on average they don't have the same drive for it. Men have higher libidos. And through either biology, raw desire for more, or how we are raised they are more inclined to have casual sex.

Women would rather spend their 20s to 30s having as much casual sex as they can, and try to "hook" a top-tier good looking guy into not having casual sex anymore, and stay with her in a Long Term Relationship. If she reaches ~30 without "hooking" a top-tier guy, she hits what's called the "Wall", where she CANT attract the top-tier guy into casual sex, and attempt to "hook" him. So, what does she do? She claims to have a sudden change of heart, and starts seeking out an average guy to be her beta provider.
