I find that it's less common for women to care about their partners' n-counts, but that's not to say it's "unnatural" or wrong. You're entitled to your own standards. You are free to determine what your dealbreakers are and anyone who says otherwise can fuck right off. I'm similar to you in that I also would not consider a relationship with someone whose past made me feel uncomfortable. Number of previous partners is important to me.

Impairment of pair bonding is more strongly correlated in women but it's definitely present in both sexes. Sex is great, but not with tons of different people. It is one of TRP's greatest mistakes, IMO

No, and it's actually a good idea if you want a man you can count on to stick around to be there for you and your child if you ever have children. People who focus on things like sex and money instead of deeper, more meaningful and long lasting relationship elements tend to split up and fight a lot. Amusingly, these same people will definitely get upset and fight me on this topic, as well as many other topics. They weren't raised well, so they're easily upset. That comes back to this topic you raised. Their mother likely selected a man based on sex or money and when those things got old the relationship dies.

It's not unnatural no. A lot of women share your sentiment. I'm different tho. Not super important how many women a man has been with sexually. More important to me how many times they've been in love.

I think it's normal and even preferable to want a guy who shares your values and your approach to sex. There are plenty of men out there that aren't fans of casual sex and prefer intimacy in the context of a relationship.

The trick, however, is to be able to distinguish between those men and the men whose n-count is impeded only by their lack of opportunity.

I too have had a small number of partners and only went for guys with low numbers as well.

Low number in sexual partners doesn't mean they can't have sex with many. It means they are choosey with who they have sex with. I think that's a fine way to go about finding a partner.

It's very common where I come from (Asian country). Me and many of my female friends are not interested in guys who go for the partying/casual sex lifestyle.

Women often feel insecure about a man having a significant number of partners because it makes them feel like he would be less likely to commit to them in the long run. The most attractive men are going to generally have the highest number of previous partners, all else being equal, so there's some degree of trade-off there between comfort and attraction if you really need him to have a relatively low partner count.

When a woman has a high n-count, it implies that her sexual value is low because she gives it away so easily (ie: lack of scarcity). When a man has a high n-count, it implies that his value is high because he's able to acquire sex so often. The difference is that women are the gatekeepers of sex, and men are the gatekeepers of commitment.

Is a man's value as intrinsically tied to his partner count?

No. This tends to give him experience and confidence, a comfort at being "in his skin", and it gives him skills in pleasing a woman, but it doesn't otherwise do much for him (this is enough).

For women, a high count (lots of riding the carousel) tends to make them unsatisfied and bitter - or at the very least, jaded. I don't recommend it.
