Women don’t want to hear it when a man goes through hardships, they absolutely hate it and it turns them off. I lost my mental health for 5 months enduring a literal mental nightmare and my ex was zero help and hated it. She left me a few months into it after 4 years. First mistake was to agree to do the chores 50/50... if the wife doesnt work, then its her job to frekaing do it and she better do it right. While his situation is shitty at best, it doesn't help he let himself drag by the nose like that.

The second is thinking he can divorce. he can't. He needs peace of mind right now, not a divorce rape. He should just rent a cheap place/bnb or w/e, find a way to be alone a bit and sort his stuff out.

He should spend his evenings with his mothers and take a break from the wife.

He should also start recording whenever he's at his place to record what the wife does. This is legit abuse. He's being abused emotionnaly.

But he defo needs to understand that if he has kids (the post doesnt say it), then shell get custody and since she doesnt work hes 100% divorce raped.

If they don't have kids then proving abuse etc it's the direction to go.

Dude has been through so much this past month, the pain and suffering will likely and hopefully never be topped. My meddeling mother-in-law-to-be told me that she heard that "modern men" do half the housework. I told her that was because modern women work, but the plan was for my fiance to be a stay at home mom.

The future-mother-in-law was relentless: modern men earned all the income AND did half the housework. I asked my fiance and she agreed.

That was when I realized I was going to get nothing out of this and bailed. 10 days before the event. Thanks non-mom!

I've made the mistake of living with a number of women and I've found that this is how it goes;

Don't do any of the house work = Get screamed at because she's doing all the house work

Clean up after yourself and do all the housework that affects you = Get screamed at because she's doing all the house work

Do exactly half the house work = Get screamed at because she's doing all the house work

Do all the housework = Get screamed at because she's doing all the house work

Conclusion- do as much or as little as you like and the results will be the same.

You're welcome to try out this experiment on your own and come to the same conclusion

I’ve heard this bs back in Oprah type talk shows. The woman would be a stay at home mom while the man would work manual labor jobs. Anyway they would have the mom get a spa day while he did her work, cooking cleaning and taking care of the kids. Of course the segment would show how hard it is and over exaggerating and by the end of the segment the man would say that he realizes that he needs to do his part and blah blah blah.

The man has provided everything back then and did his job and then in the 90s it started that men need to do more and women need to do less. So as well as working he has to do part of her job.

Of course since the 90s both works and his money pays for the kid’s daycare and babysitter and her money is her money.

Well now it’s a man working and his money is his money and he’s alone. Perfect.

When I left the military I was unemployed for about two months. My (ex) wife was working until I found a job so i was home with a two year old. All chores were done before lunch. I spent time with my kid, kept up the house, prepared meals, etc. Easiest job of my life. I got a job and she came back home to raise the kid... and cheated on me because she did all the housework!

This hits close to home. When my son was still an infant, my mom was thrown from a stallion she was training. Ended up with her 12th or 13th concussion and a partially collapsed lung. Rushed via helicopter to the hospital(2hr drive from me). I dropped my ex and son of at in-laws and called out of work to go be there for my mom.

this is a huge part of why i find it so undesirable to have a live in gf or wife. the thought of having to 'argue' about housework just pisses me off. i did it when i had roommates, i feel like it would be 10x worse with a girl.

right now, i live on my own and let the dishes and everything pile up as much as i want. admittedly, my house is a fucking mess and i need to stop being such a slob. but the good thing is, nobody is around to shame me for shit when i'm tired, depressed, and injured and can't lift my fucking arms after work.

its like, if my kitchen is a fucking mess, but i'm not feeling chores, and i sit down to have a glass of whiskey instead, then great, its my fucking call. i have zero understanding why men want to come home and have someone get in their face about chores and shit before they even have a chance to recoup.

i still clean, still do the dishes, but its on my schedule. most people that live with me would find it totally unnacceptable the way i live, so being alone is ideal while i try to figure out how to be more consistently clena and neat. but its a fucking struggle 99% of most days.
