I know you're probably using this figuratively but 1. vaginas (and all other mucous membranes) are baseline wet at all times and 2. arousal wetness doesn't happen instantly, sometimes it takes quite a while to catch up with mental arousal and other physical signs of arousal. Women are less likely to actually pursue random casual sex (for a host of reasons). So it's useless to "want to have sex with" someone, and think about that urge more than necessary, since it's not going to happen anyway. Also, men probably get more visual stimulation while out and about, thanks to women's clothing that is designed specifically to be attractive. Men's clothing is often not very flattering in ways that women appreciate.

I'm too lazy to look up studies. But you're scientifically incorrect. Testosterone is a hell of a drug, and is the single greatest booster of sex drive. Biologically, the average man will have a sex drive leagues above the average women.

But inevitably some twat comes along with a story of how she had a higher libido than one of her ex's, which clearly negates all we know about biology and hormones.

a man's libido is like gasoline. women's libido is like wet wood. you can light a fire with both but you have a much harder time with the second. similarly you have a much harder time trying to sexually excite a woman. that's because evolution designed women to be like that in order to save their eggs for the most suitable mate.

I think it has to do much more with dopamine than testosterone.

As a woman, I masturbate twice daily. It helps manage stress at midday and go to sleep at night. The more you do it, the more you want it, and as a woman you can get yourself off like 70 times a day or more. After 5-6 times it gets unpleasant. But you can still do it.

tl;dr female sexuality is limitless, and orgasms are a cheap drug that's highly effective and has very pleasant afterglow. I suppose that female sexuality has a much wider amplitude than male sexuality. Doesn't mean that women have a lower libido, it means that some women have not yet discovered the fine art of handcraft sex.

I can't say I've ever experienced sexual dormancy. Let's just say I masturbate less when I have a partner, but I still masturbate a lot. I'm what you'd call a BP woman too. Sometimes I get aroused for no reason at all, while at work or out on a run. I'm a very healthy, active individual, though, that could play a role in it.
