Not much. If you consider clothes, shoes, and hygienic products, average it it out, let's say $100 a year. Counting soap, shampoo, tooth brushes, ect... That's just beauty products. I've sent a fair bit of money developing skills, hobbies, and generally interesting things. A few hundred dollars or so.

If you don't mind, what's the break down for this? Do you go to a really expensive hairdresser/ buy high-quality products or just get it done fairly often?

As for me,

Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, deoderant, etc): ~£280

Haircuts: ~£100

Grooming (razors, other hair removal methods, shaving cream, miscellaneous hair care stuff): ~£120

New shoes:~£70

Total:~£570

I cba to go to the leisure centre I used to work out in so I just do that on our machines at home for free, and my partner buys my fancy, non lazing-around-the-house clothes for the most part because he hates my style so I can't really count those, so that's about it really. I'll add more if I think of them.

Fitness $75. I bought a new pair of crosstrainers on sale at Nordstrom rack this year, and a pair of hiking boots on sale at a local sports outlet, otherwise my fitness expenses are null. Lift at my apartment gym, do cardio outside, hike on the weekends.

Hair: $80. $20 hair color 4 times a year, I learned to trim my own hair.

Makeup: $600. Largest expense, but because I am re-entering the workforce I had to buy a lot of muted, matte, and neutral colors that weren't really in my collection before. Next year should be a lot less as I have found my go-to neutral shadows/lipsticks and will just need to buy to replace.

Clothing/shoes: $100, but I'm about to drop around $300 for business clothes. I was huge last time I was working, and I never got around to replacing my slacks, work appropriate skirts, jackets, blouses, etc.

Cookbooks: $80. I grab a new one (~$20) every three months or so. I am extremely selective with what recipes are "keepers" (they must be mind-blowing), so I grab a new book to try some new things whenever I finish everything of interest in an old one. My cooking is a hugely important aspect of my SMV.

Cooking/baking supplies: $200. Pure estimation here. Included here is parchment, foil, kitchen tools, pots and pans, etc. I buy all equipment at places like TJ Maxx to save as much money as possible.

Hair care products: $450. $12 shampoo once a month, $12 conditioner every other week, hair spray, gel, etc. as needed.

Skin care products: $80. $10 cleanser every 3 months , $20 moisturizer once a year, $10 sunscreen twice a year. I have good skin, caring for it isn't complicated for me.

Therapy is hard to price, because I don't have a copay with my insurance. I go once a week, this is absolutely important to my SMV. Unstable women are not good partners. Also related are my medications, which cost $40 per month, so $480 a year.

Self-Education: $250. Pure estimation. Included here are books and apps to help me learn math, Spanish, CBT and DBT skills, organization, emotional intelligence, interpersonal communication, etc.

Total: ~$2400. I didn't include business clothes in this total.

This is tough to answer, because while I'm sure bathing and brushing my teeth increases my smv, I don't do either of those things for the purpose of increasing my smv, so I don't know whether to include them or not. Same for everything else: I wear makeup occasionally bc I like it, not to increase my smv. Same for sexy clothing. Same for hair, etc. There's nothing I do to expressly increase my smv, although lots that I do goes into not looking like a homeless scrub.

Though this might be a joke post, i do know there are plenty enough women out there that DO that.

I do the gym, but not for looks. Makeup, you can get basic shit. Hell, i dont even need to wear makeup to get attention to begin with.

Clothes. Ever wondered why some clothes look nice on the manikin and not on people soemtimes? or models? coz its about the body of the person wearing it, and not the clothes. a $100 or $300 dress would look like shit on a shitty looking woman. a $10 or $5 clothing item, would look nice on a nice looking woman. Its like what, a guy getting a nice car to boost his v... lo......

Hair $2200? lolol. I get compliments on my hair every time, and i spend almost nothing on it. Improvise. Some people buy their way in, some people figure out you dont have to give so much input to get as much output.

I think a successful woman can pay for herself. To demand that the man pay for her, is like outrightly declaring you will be an entitled leech. A woman can spend so much money, but what she sees as value doesnt always equate to what is valuable to the man. The $2200 hair, may be worth $0 to the man. Hence, one demands more than what one sells really at times

now, on self improvement for myself - to improve my ability

ive spent a lot though on memberships, books, work out equipment, pricier food than normal, supplements, gear, instruction vids, physical therapy etc etc

honestly, its so funny sometimes seeing women in those seats having another woman have to do their nail polish on their feet... i mean, i always wondered, cant these women just do it themselves? cant they bend over and reach it???

I couldn't say how much I spend on clothes and stuff because I don't really keep track. My expenses are minimal.

I have spent the last year learning welding and poi spinning, paying off my student loans, and going to awesome parties. I don't really work out ( I get free gym membership through work, though ) but all the recreational moving has left me looking very svelte and muscular.

I don't have as much of a SMV as I have a CMV (Carny Market Value) and I'm all partnered off anyway.

In the past year I spent well in excess of a million on a house mostly as an investment property. It doesn't do that much for my SMV but I'm fairly certain it counts for RMV.

Gym membership, health food, clothes, dates, value hobbies, and everything else are a drop in the bucket in comparison. Upper bound estimate probably don't surpass 10k.

Look, I'm really into fitness and grooming as well but it's not just to look good for my bf it's to create a positive impression in society in general.

If you walk around looking poorly groomed people shit on you hardcore. I used to be a fatass with severe acne and it sucked. People don't take you seriously if you don't wear makeup and decent clothes. People everywhere treat you as a leper if you have cystic acne, Retinol changed my life.

As you pointed out, there are several expenses on your list that will last far longer than 12 months -- generally you want to include a prorated amount for these rather than the full cost. That might knock a grand off your total.

So you use deceptive female game tricks to artificially inflate your SMV which then leads to you having dates with wealthier and more attractive men that you would other wise ... but you feel entitled to have him contribute to your costs of deceiving him .

I think you should only count stuff you wouldn't have done anyway. Unless you were going to buy all of your clothes from Dollar General and cut your hair with a Flowbee if you weren't in the dating scene most of this is probably stuff you would have already done.

If you get married and let your appearance drop off too much that's not cool so you'd probably still be doing most of the same stuff.

All of the stuff I do is stuff I would do anyway including the fancy car and fancy clothes. I'm a stylish guy because I'm a stylish guy so $0.
