The Sexodus is BAD for women. Both anecdotes and hard data show this. If you're a heterosexual woman who values long term relationships/marriage, you should be against the blue pill view of the world.

Average looking woman from Boston uses Tinder to get pathetic men to shovel her car out of snow... twice. Can BP explain to me how men and women are the same again? Also, how can men cash in on the same phenomenon?

Attempting to dread game an entire gender into settling is unlikely to get anyone anywhere.

[–]cxj75% Redpill Core Ideas-2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Nice joke, but the post isn't trying to get women to settle, its making the argument that the current social settings are bad for women in the long run.

Probably right, but whatever.

[–]wombatinaburrowfeminist marsupial2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Of course they're bad for women. They're bad for men, too. The current economic climate isn't conducive to encouraging people to settle down and produce kids.

[–]cxj75% Redpill Core Ideas0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Agreed, probably for different reasons tho.

The actual research article is interesting: http://www.pewsocialtrends.org/2012/04/19/a-gender-reversal-on-career-aspirations/?src=prc-headline

The quotes from the article are just anecdote after anecdote and I see them as irrelevant.

Collapse of male-dominated industries such as manufacturing aren't anything to do with feminists and why so many men can't find work.I see it as a tragic consequence of advances in technology. I agree that women see it as important that their marriage partner have a good job, which makes things extremely hard for those men without good, steady jobs and careers.

The Pew study said there was an increase in desiring marriage in older men. So there isn't a decrease across the board.

There is an increase in young women of wanting marriage, yet they are still pursuing careers and not marriage and children, according to the research. It said both younger and older women are placing a high value on careers. You'd imagine that if older women were worried about marriage, they'd be placing a much higher value on marriage than what they are.

It could be true that women are seeking men at the same or a higher level than themselves (career-wise) - and this isn't going to work if there aren't enough of such men to go around and so women will need to adjust and change their view.

Personally, I see lots of professional women happily married to men who work in trades such as building and carpentry - but that's just what I personally see and I have no idea what the overall picture on that is.

It has everything to do with feminism.

1) The college gender gap is at all time highs

2) Public schools are dominated by women, there are very few male teachers/male role models. So women hold boys to girl standards.

3) There are a LOT of good high paying jobs in the trades and many trades are in danger of not having enough workers replace the retiring workers. Our education system is designed around girls, but boys learn differently and are interested in different things. Vocational schools are far and few between compared to traditional schools (Massachusetts has shown that vocational schools are very successful at placing students in high paying jobs right out of high school, why we aren't doing more of this is a question that needs to be asked).

The Pew study said there was an increase in desiring marriage in older men. So there isn't a decrease across the board.

But it doesn't matter because the trend still has decreased overall over time AND the fact that women value men with stable jobs over anything else and men aren't filling that void.

It said both younger and older women are placing a high value on careers.

They placed having a successful marriage as the most important thing in their lives.

and so women will need to adjust and change their view.

yes, i hear having lots of cats is an option.

Personally, I see lots of professional women happily married to men who work in trades such as building and carpentry - but that's just what I personally see and I have no idea what the overall picture on that is.

Trades are a low status job. Shit, even engineering/software engineering is considered 'low status' to a lot of women. Highly educated women want men with high status jobs that require a high education.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Our education system is designed around girls, but boys learn differently and are interested in different things.

What. The education system hasn't changed at all. It's designed to learn, and if you can't...there's the door.

I agree with the poster above, the change in jobs is not feminism's fault. There are no more GM jobs available.

[–]Phokus1982[S] -2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

There are a shit-ton of jobs in trades (i.e. plumbing, welding, car mechanic, electrician work, high tech manufacturing, etc.). Massachusetts has had great success with vocational schools, some students are getting $50-$60k jobs right out of high school. The waiting list to get into these schools are long and there are way too few vocational schools in the nation as a whole to meet demand.

Yes, it is the fault of feminism. Our entire educational system is centered on girls, not boys.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Our entire educational system is centered on girls, not boys.

I cannot speak about public school systems. But this was hardly the case for private schools.

That being said, explain how the educational system is centered on girls and not boys.

Perhaps boys do not do well when they 'compete' against girls in school? And what? We are going to change the entire education system so boys do better? No one cared about girls doing well in school.

The waiting list to get into these schools are long and there are way too few vocational schools in the nation as a whole to meet demand.

And how is this feminism's fault? We have the same problem with every program, WAY too many candidates and few spots.

The education system hasn't changed at all. It's designed to learn, and if you can't...there's the door prison cell.

Fixed that for you. When will women realize that socially regressing men are NOT good for society? And if you think the public education system hasn't changed, you're sick in the fucking head.

I'll let Christina Hoff Summers explain it for you.

Though after watching that, I highly doubt a useful reply from you.

[–]wombatinaburrowfeminist marsupial1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Hoff Summers is wildly out of touch with the pedagogy of the modern, mixed ability classroom. Her observations are stuck in the 1980s, when tech schools were abandoned in favour of the "academia or bust" approach to funnel students into higher education, regardless of aptitude.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So you Ad Hominem her instead of refuting her arguments. Classic PPD.

[–]wombatinaburrowfeminist marsupial0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Ok, as far as her arguments go (I would call them observations, but never mind); 1) Boys are not catered for enough in a feminized clasdroom: The "10 learning hats" mixed ability, mixed learning style model of classroom teaching has come into vogue since Hoff Summers did her research. Kinetic and spatial learners (these are the "busy" boys who disturbed the classrooms of the 80s, where corporal punishment had recently been replaced with the still being developed "soft punishment" techniques.) are much better understood and catered for in contemporary pedagogy. Engagment of students proactively, rather than reactively punishing them is the "go to" technique now employed in classrooms; and had not come into use outside of Montessori or Steiner schools while Hoff Summers was conducting her research.

2) Boys are drugged out to make them behave. No. ADHD needs to be proactively managed in order for learners to succeed. Dr Christopher Green is the current leading authority on this.

I'm not sure how old you are; but the classroom is a very different place than it was 20, 10 or even 5 years ago. John Marsden and Steve Biddulph are both excellent writers on the topic if you are interested.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Though after watching that, I highly doubt a useful reply from you.

School shootings must be a foreign subject to you. They are trying to eradicate this, so they are looking for signs. Drawing knives or making guns out of pop-tarts, people get nervous.

Why? Because IF something happens and the teacher saw that...they will be penalized. Why didn't you do anything? YOU saw the signs! Do you realize how little control teachers actually have? The amount of parental helicoptering I have seen is crazy.

As for the medication, I am a female and I take medication for my ADD. It has allowed me to perform at the level I should be performing at.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

  1. I am not surprised that you are a female taking medications for mental issues.

  2. You are reduced to citing "school shootings?!?!" Are you fucking serious?!?! School shootings are still in the 0.01 percentile of school-related violence. It's incredibly rare, and a weak argument to the video I posted. But whatever makes your feminist world view sleep better at night.

In order to avoid any SOLID evidence provided by Christina Hoff Somers, you cite some "school shooting" data to avoid the argument.

I expected no less on PPD.

Way to shit on everyone with ADD. That makes you sound intelligent.

Some studies show that people believe boys are better than girls in math so teachers tend to focus more on helping and encouraging male students when it comes to math, maybe not intentionally, but it happens.

Men have socially regressed women way more throughout history. The current state of matters doesn't even compare. We're closer to being equals now.

[–]Petticoat_Rule3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

It has everything to do with feminism.

I spoke about the collapse of the manufacturing industries. You went on to speak about other things entirely.

1) The college gender gap is at all time highs

True

2) Public schools are dominated by women, there are very few male teachers/male role models. So women hold boys to girl standards.

Male teachers teach the same way as female teachers and teach the same things and hold students to the same standards. Schools aren't dominated by women. Men just don't want to be teachers enough.

3) There are a LOT of good high paying jobs in the trades and many trades are in danger of not having enough workers replace the retiring workers.

Ok - which trades and why?

Our education system is designed around girls, but boys learn differently and are interested in different things.

Men designed the education system. It was not designed ariound girls but designed around men. I agree that it sucks. It's boring and you learn a lot of useless things. School should be exciting, challenging with a lot more physical competition.

Vocational schools are far and few between compared to traditional schools (Massachusetts has shown that vocational schools are very successful at placing students in high paying jobs right out of high school, why we aren't doing more of this is a question that needs to be asked).

In total agreement. That's exactly what we should be doing.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

physical competition.

What? You want 'mortal combat' to be a course in grade school?

FYI, you like natural selection...right? Strength is no longer being selected, intelligence is.

[–]Petticoat_Rule1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Say what?

I meant friendly games and team sports - yes there's a competitive element, but with an emphasis on challenging yourself, working in a team, getting exercise, having fun.... all kids included.

I'm unsure how you got 'mortal combat' out of 'physical competition'.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Doesn't P.E. class cover that stuff?

Maybe my area is an outlier, but I've had about equal male and female teachers in high school and university. Also, technology, increased push to go to university, and outsourcing have driven away many manufacturing jobs. Somehow I can't see that as being all the fault of feminism. I'm an economics student and we've spoken a lot about outsourcing and its effect on the American manufacturing industry.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

2) Public schools are dominated by women, there are very few male teachers/male role models. So women hold boys to girl standards.

I think that has been true for a while, and not just in public schools. I went to Catholic school K-12 and all of my teachers were women. The only male teachers I heard about my friends (in public school) having were those in HS math and physics courses.

If you think this is so terrible, why not start encouraging more men to go into K-12 teaching?

Women don't care

Read the article above where women are crying about being single and preying on other women's LTR's.

[–]UnpluggedMan-1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The men we want aren't going anywhere.

They are also in ever higher demand, thus allowing them to get whatever they want from you at rock bottom prices.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Men and women are still marrying, specifically men and women who are educated.

I wonder why.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

So you are saying that a fringe idea that just about nobody has ever heard of has this major impact? I'm not buying that. Nobody that I have observed other than TRP has paid any mind to it.

[–]Phokus1982[S] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

So you are saying that a fringe idea that just about nobody has ever heard of has this major impact?

What, men opting out of society? That's hardly a fringe idea. Are you going to argue that hetero-women are NOT having a harder time finding someone to marry than before?

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

I'm arguing that "The Sexodus" is completely overblown media hype by bitter men who feel entitled to relationships/sex.

The only men that opt out of society are the ones that are bitter about society, and the most bitter men are "Nice Guys", MRAs, and TRP members.

[–]Phokus1982[S] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

You do realize that 'the other side' complains about this too, but they're called 'manchildren' instead and the idea of the manchild came WAY before MGTOW/Sexodus/Whatever label you want to call it, right? Even conservatives were complaining about this and calling on men to 'man up'.

What you're arguing goes against reality.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

What you're arguing goes against reality.

Your reality is that of a completely different planet than mine. People who are bitter and whine (like ya know, the poster boys of this, TRP and "Nice Guys"), are "manchildren". The stuff that people admit to on TRP is also mind-numbingly selfish, which is something that children are capable of especially if they are immature.

TL;DR: TRP is the oldest teenager in the house.

[–]Phokus1982[S] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Your reality is that of a completely different planet than mine.

Obviously, mine is backed up with facts, yours with wishful thinking.

Along with Manchildren, sexodus, MGTOW, the rallying cry of modern women is 'where have all the good men gone?'

You're damn right that our realities are on a different planet: Mine is from earth, yours is from another galaxy.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

These are all opinion pieces, they really don't say much, other than that three writers have that particular opinion. So, no, these aren't facts. Try again.

PSA for The Red Pill: Opinion pieces and blogs don't count as evidence.

[–]Phokus1982[S] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

There have been numerous stories about this phenomenon. PSA: Look at the 2 studies i posted above.

You have to be out there if you think women don't have a harder time with LTR's/marriage than before.

You and the rest of BP do a huge disservice to women.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

And the studies are where? Because those looked a hell of a lot like opinion pieces.

Edit: All I saw was this. If men are really as bitter as "The Sexodus" makes it seem, women are best served doing their own thing. I don't see how they lose if more and more men are getting bitter about dating. Same thing for me, if they are bitter, maybe they need to figure themselves out first.

[–]Phokus1982[S] -4 points-3 points-2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oh... so you completely ignored the 2 studies i posted in the OP, and just went for the anecdote underneath.

BP lives in a bubble.

So it's both

a fringe idea that just about nobody has ever heard of

and

completely overblown media hype

At the same time? Do you even bother trying to maintain your own continuity?

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It's overblown media hype by a small loud group that nobody else really cares about. So essentially, it is overblown within TRP.

[–]Villaintine╰▄︻▄╯-2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Your delusions are interesting. You should get into art.

What is it with you leftists and inflammatory trigger words? Oh well i guess thats just yalls version of trp/manosphere crass harshness

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The funny thing is that I consider myself to be centrist. Anyway, entitlement is an actual concept that is applied to a lot of things, I don't get how it is any different when it comes to relationships.

[–]cxj75% Redpill Core Ideas-2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Entitlement is one of those words along with "privilege" etc that are so calculated to patronize the opponent and so weasily with how they are defined I stop taking the person seriously. This type of language shenannegans gets old regardless of whose doing it, TRP does it in a different way like I said

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In a way. I still think it makes sense as long as the concept is applied consistently though.

[–]cxj75% Redpill Core Ideas-2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

MRAs

They seem to be more pissed about getting fucked over in divorce, etc. You'd be pissed too if all your assets were confiscated by a family court judge to pay a woman who voluntarily left you for emotional reasons

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I think the divorce process should be better for both genders, actually, but MRAs also do tend to whine, A LOT, or am I wrong?

[–]fiat_lux_Red Pillar-3 points-2 points-1 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Most ideologues who aren't satisfied with the status quo become whiners. Including feminists.

It comes with the territory.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't disagree. I think everyone whines to a degree, I just observe MRA/TRP whining more often than other types. Though that might be due to perspective

You're just going to get more "but it's just omegas leaving the market, and we weren't going to date them anyway!"

First we had arguments of SMV ("Everyone has unique preferences, thus SMV doesn't exist!"), now this. Some people just hate thinking about markets, economics, competition, and other stressful thoughts.

Consider a market where we have 100 different shoes and 100 people. About 30 of the shoes are of the shittiest brand. Only the cheapest people would buy them. The upper 50 percent of those people scoff at those shoes. "Pffft, who would wear those?"

We take the lowest 30 shoes off the market. Suppose even the lowest 30 of people weren't ALL interested in shoes anyway. About 33% of them were fine going bare feet all the time. But there are still about 20 people who wanted shoes, and didn't like going bare feet. They heard about those shoes being taken off the market. They realized they're just going to have to work slightly harder to get the next tier of shoes, above the 30th percentile.

This creates a slight scarcity in the next tier. Some of the people in the next tier work slightly harder to find shoes. The imbalances of the bottom start find finding their way up top, and soon the entire system is affected. Even people who thought, "I'd never wear those shoes that were taken off the market anyway!" are finding slightly tougher competition from below where they found none before.

Now, I'm not convinced mgtow is that big, but if it truly took out a significant number of men off the market (like 10% or so), then people in the middle are going to feel trace effects of that. Influences people have on each other through the market are rarely direct.

(EDIT: Note that all of the above is assuming that mgtows == omegas. I'm not sure that's entirely true, but I'm giving that one to bpers as a freebie, because I'm generous.)

Now, it's not just bpers, but even old stooges who'd scoff at possible interactions between different demographics in a markets. Blockbuster imploded, and major brick and mortar superchains have started to see online retailing truly cut into their revenue, and they can't ignore it anymore either. Even older and poorer people they didn't expect to use the internet have forced themselves to learn because the marginal benefits were too high (better deals). From a holistic perspective, we all affect each other on some level.

If this were to truly become a problem, then the way this could be countered is just by women leaving the market as well, like the dried fish ladies of Japan, who gave up in turn like the herbivores. Just let marriage (or even LTRs in general) die off! Unfortunately, this situation like so many others ends up hitting the lower tiers the hardest. They're the ones feeling most hopeless and in need to share their costs and struggles with a close one, even if we were to look past the savings of cohabitation and taxes.

porn and other distractions.

If they become too much of a problem and too big a threat to the powers that be, then attempts will be made to ban or severely restrict those things. Take ISP's and their constant interference in our politics. Whether those attempts will be successful or not really depends on this generation of men.

Hahahahaha, if they ban porn, men will REVOLT.

[–]ReginleiferOnly Zombies want female brains1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not necessarily the sad sad case of the UK shows us that denutted men are willing to tolerate plenty of shit from their masters. They rationalize it over there saying that "well we can still watch internet porn/access porn by proxy".

No men revolted during Prohibition either, just disobeyed the law...unlike drinking however wanking isn't a social thing. So men organizing for bukkake isn't going to happen.

EDIT: well they'll still "organize" but not in a political w... you know what I mean. xD

You can't tell young women any of this, they don't believe you and just think You're being mean

[–]Phokus1982[S] -4 points-3 points-2 points 11 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

Young women need some sort of 'scared straight' programs that they use for youth at risk for becoming criminals, but instead of busing them into prisons, they need to make the rounds of some 30/40 something spinster catladies that threw their youth away.

Exactly, because existing as a woman who didn't get married or have kids is an outright crime!

[–]Phokus1982[S] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I think it should be a woman's choice, but it would be better if women could make INFORMED choices as to choose either a long term commitment or a short window for 'having fun' and being independent.

Why does a woman have to choose between having fun as a young person and finding a husband? More importantly, why does it matter to you if I find a husband or not?

This will be shocking to you, but men have a choice as well, it's not a one sided thing. Many men do not like having a LTR who slutted it around (especially if they themselves were left out in the cold while they were young). Men also prefer younger women.

I personally don't care if YOU find a husband or not, but it is an interesting topic in terms of society as a whole.

I think men have been caring increasingly less about past sexual history and the trend is unlikely to stop. The number of sexual partners also seems to be increasing for both men and women (citation needed), and as casual sex and high partner frequency become even less stigmatized, less men may get left out in the cold. As for preferring young women, the number of single women is equal to less than the number of single men. That means there will not be a quantitative shortage of men for an unmarried older woman, at least.

Anecdotal, but just to throw this in: I've dated mostly younger guys since I was 25. No special reason, I just look young and I didn't reject guys for their age. I don't buy that men care that much about age. If you're an attractive, interesting, and charismatic person, you can date more people successfully. You may not be compatible as people, however. I think intelligent, well adjusted people understand that the compatibility of your lives and personalities is far more important than youth.

If anything , women are more likely to reject a younger guy as the general consensus is that guys mature slower. I've gotten a comment from another woman saying "right on have some fun" about someone I was dating who was younger. Women might not think a guy is capable of handling a relationship until he is older. You don't see older women as often because young men are seen as extremely immature and kind of like eye candy. Like boy toys. I don't agree with that stereotype but that is there.

The only shocking thing here is that you assume I want to rob anyone of their choice of preferences in potential partners.

Shhh, you don't see, spinsters are all supposed to be sad mistakes, because only by a RP marriage some time shortly after highschool can you know happiness!

I think that men are to blame, as they always are. Women tend to be, in general, more reactive, more conformist, and more risk-averse. If society is changing then it's very likely driven mostly by the actions of men.

Men are simply acting too beta. Past generations had to risk war, many lived in third world style poverty, and a lot of our modern conveniences and distractions didn't exist. Men are acting weak, getting fat, and letting themselves go. Women are just responding to this fact.

That wouldn't work by rp logic anyway.

While I don't think hypergamy is absolute, let's say it was.

If men and women were equal, then right off the bat a huge number of men are just going to be eliminated straight out because they couldn't keep up with most women socioeconomically. They got displaced from academia and the market. Even if they were to "man up", there are certainly going to be some who are left behind by mere virtue of this being a competitive market. We're graded on a curve.

Now supposing the genders weren't equal and also we took into consideration greater pressure to succeed, and then on average worked harder than women... the rp/mra concern would be that the bp public in general would be confused, say that the imbalance was due to discrimination/sexism, and then impose quotas to balance out the equation anyway. Thus, we'll still end up with a lot of men stuck at the bottom of the curve who get ignored.

If you go by that logic, then the mgtow movement makes perfect sense, and it's not just because men in general are not up to the task. No matter how much men as a whole struggle, we're in competition with one another after all.

That being said I agree with you in principle. Not just men, but everyone. I do think too many of us are spoiled and innocent. We need tougher rites of passage.

If hypergamy is real, we'll just make up some sort of arbitrary measure of social status if you loose something else. Everyone thinks their snookums is wonderful and the best. I get downright irrational over Gentleman and I somehow manage to overlook my higher amount of education or any other measure I exceed him in to talk in disgusting baby voices about how he is "best, best, best".

Societies cope fine with different divisions of labour than the Western model. RP already advises its members to do things like "lift" rather than just to make more money or start participating in municipal politics or make better marks.
