Explain to me the problems of Red Pill

Simply being honest and forthright is not unique to Red Pill philosophy, and in fact is not a staple of the philosophy. It teaches you to be less of a man by ignoring the whole person and focusing on ridged idealism of what a man is.

Modern feminism is not a problem. You simply don’t have the depth on the issue to discuss it properly. It’s not that you can’t critique parts or ask questions for clarification, but blanket statements are not absolute as you want to put forth. Critiquing white feminism is an issue that has needed critique since the first wave due to overt racism throughout.

The Red Pill is also very transphobic and homophobic. It is by nature relegating a very simplistic understanding of psychology, specifically evolutionary psychology. Beta/Alpha types are not a real thing as we have our strengths and weaknesses in varying situations.

So, it may help get dates, but Red Pill has no idea what to do with a woman that is independent. They simply seek victims and the philosophy is wholly based in emotional abuse.

They think if a person is female they are flighty, weak and shallow, and that they need to be manipulated and dominated in a relationship.

The self improvement stuff is really generic otherwise. The misogyny is what makes it TRP and not loseit or getdisciplined or an assertiveness workshop. If you're in shape, confident and groomed you'll get more action regardless of all that "game" shit.

I'm female. I work in a hospice. I see couples every day loving each other in old age, through disability and into death. TRP is full of people who don't know shit about life and don't know shit about love. That view on relationships is pathetic.

Independent women are not a rarity, at all. I’ve met many more that are, than not. Of course, I tend to hang around a higher class of people anyhow.

If you really don’t understand why this ideology is bad, then there is no hope for you at this point and it’s a gateway to abuse, you already use abusive and archaic language. So, while you might not feel it is, you’re wrong and maybe you’ll grow up one day.

It has no value, none. There is no legitimacy to an abusive philosophy. It has no value except to those who don’t see women as having value. So, I guess it does to abusers; which is what the Red Pill teaches.

You can’t make a case for abuse. It’s not right and you do seek it out. You chose to seek its advice and are now trying to put a happy face on it, but you have to remember, we know it’s abuses.

I mean, you’re a young guy based upon your posting history. So, don’t pretend to have much of an idea and no one at your age is really independent. So, perhaps one day you’ll see the light and be here asking for help; but you can’t ignore the poor guys who were sucked in and then just miserable after being left out to dry by the philosophy. We see them on the Daily.

So, carry on. You obviously have made up your mind about it. So, carry on.

I teach it, along with other issues. Also; yes, experience doesn’t always reflect with age, but twenty year olds, especially ones who think the Red Pill is a legit thing, are not typical of a person who has experience in life. Otherwise they wouldn’t seek it out if they had things figured out.

For starters it promotes rigid gender roles in a society that is becoming increasingly gender fluid.

It advocates bullying.

I admittedly don't know much about it (although I used to watch a lot of MGTOW videos), but here are my rough reasons for disliking it.

It overvalues sexuality.

Is sex important? Of course. Is it more important than actually having a relationship and valuing people as human beings? Nope. And of course, as others have pointed out, it's honestly a little difficult to tell what value Red Pillers place on women, outside of being sex objects. I think a healthy attitude is to enjoy connecting with people, some of whom I happen to be sexually attracted to (women). Red Pillers seem to be fixating on being sexually attracted to women, while noting that, as an interesting side-attribute, women are people.

It's inauthentic.

Red Pill explicitly rejects phrases like "Just be yourself", and urges you to put on a face in order to get what you want. I'd compare this to trying to get friends the same way: simply looking at the statistics of the entire population in your area, and then making a show to try to 'play the numbers' (e.g., a lot of people like Avatar, so you take time out of your schedule to watch it, take notes, and practice mentioning it in conversation, hoping to make friends that way).

It relies too much on harmful stereotypes and generalizations.

Seeing an entire half of humanity as a mass and ascribing particularly personality traits to them is a recipe for disaster. As others have pointed out, the Alpha-Beta distinction is simple pseudoscience, or at best, an arbitrary framework (you could just as well divide everybody up into which Star Wars character they most resemble).

Admittedly, much of this comes from my own experience, where the women I've dated have been absolutely nothing like they are described by redpillers (they were fiercely independent, intellectual, attracted to a variety of traits, and varied widely in what they wanted out of a relationship). I find it extremely unlikely that I have simply "been lucky" or happen to be in a community made up entirely of the tiny minority of women.

It's manipulative.

Hiding your true feelings in order to get what you want out of someone is distasteful to me, regardless of what the goal is (sex, friendship, communication, comradery, romance, emotional release, etc). Turning the benefits of any relationship into raw 'goals to be achieved' implicitly treats the other person as a non-agent.

Those are my gut reactions.

I’m not arguing with a man who gained his knowledge of Feminism from Red Pill ideology. Even if he had garnered a dislike for it before; he obviously has created a construct to argue against and an ideology that allowed him to want to swallow Red Pill ideology.

The problem is for many, it turns them into insecure, ~~dreading~~ shit-testing, weaker version of themselves. Many even stay in what actually mutually abusive relationships because of the AWALT thing. They think women behaving badly is just AWALT and staying and trying to apply TRP's own brand of shit-tests, instead of seeing it as a sign to leg it off.

Being a confident and assertive man, fit both in body and mind, financially independent, socially successful and fearless are qualities that many men have been able to achieve without joining a cult like group.

Coming from a family of ex-Muslim, some of the behaviors taught in TRP are uncomfortably similar to the behavior of well, some of those most fanatically extreme in the religious bunch tbh.

The problem with Red Pill is its inventors/adherents inject a lot of modern philosophies that drive self-centered behavior.

"Red Pill" philosophies have been around for hundreds, if not thousands of years. The people proclaiming the philosophy cherry-pick what is pleasing to them, and what they agree with.

Just like feminism, RP aims to convince men that they're victims. They also go about things in a very cult-like fashion, believing in absolutes. What's funny is there was a cult with thinking along the same lines: the Manichaeists. RP teaches a lot about the "dark" nature of women, while highlighting the potential of men to achieve and overcome.

In short, RP is a different spin on masculinism. They have more with feminism's ideological methods than they think, and IMO they're both sides of the same coin.

It assumes all men are the same and all women are the same. When it reality, there's so much individual variation out there, a one-size-fits-all method is never gonna work.

Example: I'm not into muscular men or masculine men. I like femme, touchy-feely nerdy guys. I may be in the minority. But if that's who you are, why not try looking for someone who wants that rather than shoving yourself into this hyper-masculine mold you can't seem to fit?
