In this thread everyone is calling this man a douche-bag poser and pathetic loser for taking a photo of himself holding Gucci shopping bags with nothing in them, pretending to be allot richer than he is.

Now i agree of course that is lame. I think any extreme effort to appear a certain way is sad and does reflect a level of insecurity.

But that's not the point,

for discussion purposes, what is the difference between

  1. pretending to be more beautiful, using makeup, hair extensions and push up bras etc,

  2. faking how wealthy you are, by having fake empty Gucci bags and fake leather jackets.

why is one extremely sad and pathetic and not the other

the only argument is that one is normalized and ignored and the other is collectively shamed by society

In society, no one bats an eye when women trick men into sex or long term relationships,

But it's evil and pathetic when men trick women into believing they're higher value or good providers to get sex.

Sure basic makeup that just accentuates your natural beauty is fine, I'm not saying all makeup and surgery is bad and fake. To an extent.

But women will rationalize: “We don’t wear it for men! We wear it for ourselves” as if it’s some artistic expression rather than outright hiding of their flaws

But aren't women literally impersonating someone that has perfect big perky tits, perfectly plump red lips and cheeks, sharp cheekbones, perfect eyebrows, and long lashes?

That isn't who she is, shes "basic Becky", with irregular skin tones, bags under her eyes, acne skin, dry hair, short eyelashes, and shallow/fat cheeks. She is literally faking being more beautiful than she is to attract higher quality men.

You'll never see people saying it's sad and pathetic for a woman to pretend to be more beautiful. She's a gorgeous bad bitch. It's only criticized when it's extremely obvious photoshop.

Fake expensive leather jackets, renting expensive cars, posing with empty gucci bags are exterior items, used to make you appear richer than you really are. To attract women of a "Higher caliber" aka attractive gold diggers.

Faking how wealthy you are is the same as using pushup bras etc to fake how beautiful you are.

Only one is shamed and pathetic.

Either both should be pathetic, or none.
