I saw a YouTube video from Hrush Achemyan (Kylie Jenner's makeup artist) about her abusive ex boyfriend. It included a trigger warning, which I'll reiterate here: I'm going to discuss male violence against women.

She said that her ex was a narcissist who, one evening, out of the blue, decided to beat her savagely in her own home. She said that her security cameras caught the whole event in which he kicked her repeatedly in the face and body, fractured bones and her nose, and persisted the attack well after she passed out with a concussion.

He was arrested, charged with assault and TORTURE because the beating lasted over two hours and after she was unconscious. He posted bail and she has both a restraining order in place and a pending criminal investigation.

Needless to say I was horrified. I was also reminded of my past with my abuser and the years of domestic violence I endured.

I came here to say that I feel sick and eager to shout that no amount of money, fame, friends, or family will protect you from a piece of shit psycho man if he really wants to hurt you.

The only way to not be totally and completely at the mercy of a man is to VET THE HELL OUT OF HIM.

I wish I could go back and give the FDS handbook to my younger self. But what's done is done and I can only make sure it never happens again.

I'm really interested to see how Hrush's case is resolved and I hope he goes to jail. If having it on tape isn't enough then what the hell is?

I also wanted to say that I found her strength of character very encouraging and admirable. She is educating herself on narcissistic abusers, not to humanize or excuse his actions, but to learn as both an end in itself and to prevent a similar outcome.

I just love how strong women are. And how we use it to better ourselves by diving deeply into social causes, human psychology and self examination, all while keeping our empathy and building a sisterhood.

I hope I didn't upset anyone with this post. Sending you all my love.
