Women have been using sanitary products since forever. First pads were created by women, they literaly sewed them themselves. History of feminine hygene is much longer than couple years of plastic pads.

Women also created other things that helped them "breake free", like dishwasher.

Although life used to be much harder for everyone, women did have less opportunities than men. Rich women had less opportunities than rich men, middle class women had less opportunities then middle class men etc.

And washing machines were subject to a patent war involving at least two women, and no one is entirely sure who invented the first electric washer?

And condoms have existed for thousands of years, and diaphragms for a century, so it's not like The Pill was the origin of birth control?
