I'd say that Taylor Swift's music has never been my cup of tea. But at least I could still tolerate her early dorky Nashville country-ish brand of music where she was the underdog trying to win over the sexy Chad from the queen bees. At least she made an effort to write lyrics. She's not even trying anymore. Either she's obsessed over boys or obsessed over what people think of her.

I mean I like Tool and everything, but you cannot really compare these 2 acts. Tool is a prog metal band so their lyrics by definition are gonna be a little more "articulate" and "verbose" while Taylor Swift is a pop artist and catchy and repetitive hooks are what sell songs, which she is trying to do. Honestly sometimes this sub just feels like "Man fuck women and their *shuffles cards* song lyrics.

Tool is a perfect example of self improvement. The last album imho is their current pinnacle in musicmanship. The drums in Pneuma and the riffs in 7empest are out of this world. they keep bettering themselves.

Carey and Adam Jones are my inspiration , they show us we can rebirth as new artists with new and enhanced capabilities in each iteration of the spiral :)
