This is why a lot of women today think pre 1960s women were oppressed. They were held accountable for their actions and didnt have a safety net.

Society didnt allow them to just have a kid and get free money. Plus socially they would be looked at like whores, unless they were widows with a kid.

All of the "Limitations" of the past were designed to eliminate both men and women from becoming what we are today.

It was more difficult to get promoted if a man was single, and he was looked at with distrust. And an unmarried or single woman was looked at as a possible whore that cant play her position in society.

Th government got too involved and ruined the natural order of things. When a man is truly the head of household, it's his job to keep everything in order, and a man that does that creates a woman that is strong too, because she has no choice but to rise to the occasion. But if she always has a, get out of jail free card, she will never make sacrifices, because she doesnt have to.

I'm 36 years old. I have escaped marriage relatively unscathed. I gave her all the shit...all of it. The house, a car, the furniture in the house, the land it was on, etc... One of the things that annoys me is if you have kids both parents should look after them. Not go partying or whatever and palming them off to the grandparents or expect the state to look after them. That said I believe people shouldn't have more than 2 kids anyway but that is another debate.
