I wish my dad was still around.

When he passed I was having marital problems though he didn't realize the extent. After he passed my now ex wife would say things like "your dead dad would be ashamed of you."

Eventually I left. She was engaged to someone else before we were even divorced.

I would give anything to see my dad happy that I'm no longer in that abusive marriage. My mom tells me how worried about me he used to be.

I miss him.

I’m turning 32 next month, currently single, oldest of 5, and only one without children (by choice). Siblings and parents see me as if i fell behind and ask when I’m settling down or having children. But I know I’m actually ahead of the curve, have tons of goals to achieve and will have a better life in comparison when it’s all said and done.

It was on a tv show I think, but the best advice I’ve heard to this point was something along the lines of:

“Hell, don’t get married man, just find a woman you hate, buy her a house and give her half your stuff.”
