I don’t know why this is surprising. Most women have no hobbies or interests. Their focus in life outside of work tends to be on relationships, food, travel, and receiving gifts.
Hobbies require interest in learning and growing and improving your skill in some sense. Women have very little interest in that. Be honest... when’s the last time anyone has met a woman with hobbies? Actual tangible interests in some skill or endeavor that requires work to improve?

The question, "Do women have hobbies?" is being asked in an individualistic manner. Do women have hobbies they enjoy doing by themselves without prompting or encouragement from others? I don't think your example fits that. Having spoken to Indian men in America, they say Indian women lose interest in all the activities you listed. All I have to do is ask an Indian man and he confirms this. I also hear this is a lament in Canada, UK, and other countries. Indian women were so into these things in Indian but lost interest when they left India. It seems to be of interest to them when they have group prompting or encouragement. But when they don't have encouragement, they lose interest.
Furthermore, many industrialized countries had women totally interested in these things 100 years ago. But now, it's mainly internet, phone, TV/movies, and spending money. If India became as industrialized as the west or places like S. Korea and Japan, I'm sure Indian women would end up the same way.
Still, I do agree with you that many women today are interested in arts and crafts in industrialized countries. But the number who are is disappointingly small compared to the past.

yes but most of the hobbies in the present times have stemmed from past traditions. Men go for fishing, hiking, mootorcycle rides, trucking around, driving sports cars, while women go for stitching, knitting, baking, cooking! How many women do you see weightlifting, how many men do you see go for knitting? Me: Yeah I've been slacking on that front recently. Work has been nuts so I've been leaning on delivery and basic recipes. Plus it's been too hot. But in the winter I'm whipping up Mexican, Thai, and Mediterranean in the same week.
Me: I'm really into music and go to a lot of live shows (at least one a week). I play guitar and bass but just moved to Brooklyn and don't have jam buddies yet. Museums and exhibits. I work in data so anything artistic to balance out. I also enjoy golfing and fishing but both are hard in NYC so I've been exploring a new neighborhood every weekend. How about you?
Her: Totally get you about being too hot to cook. I was really talking about trying new restaurants. One of my favorite things to do tbh. Other than that, travel is way up there (when I can of course). I to really enjoy live music, but sadly I cannot say I've seen too many shows. Movies is another fav. I'm pretty low key overall, but up for most things.
To summarize, she likes: food, music but doesn't go, and movies. How robust!
Her plans this weekend? Errands and brunch with the girls. At least she was honest...
