A lot of them already know this, even if they will never admit it. It is this exact kinda thing that makes me clam up as soon as a woman starts giving me compliments, especially if I feel they are unwarranted/oddly timed. All I can think in those moments is "Alright... what is she trying to get from me now?"

Haven't been wrong yet, sad to say.

This is an interesting topic for me and I think it warrants further discussion. What has caused men to become so thirsty? A host of factors? All social? Environmental? What accounts for this phenomenon as it directly relates to men being emasculated and increasingly becoming undesirable to the majority of women?! Or more accurately, the vast majority of men.

Go your own way. Learn to love yourself. There are many of us men out there that are not afraid to show emotion, that are not afraid to compliment out friends on their successes and support them in their depressions. We don't care about possibly not being seen as "macho" because female validation doesn't even enter the picture.

It's an artificial need. An attachment. A lie you tell yourself, "If only I had a woman, I could be happy." or "If only I could make a woman happy, that would offset my own depression." But it never works that way.

Happiness is not conditional. You give it to yourself.

A few nights ago, a group of girls and a couple of guys invited me to join them. Poured me a beer, and the girls proceeded to shower me with compliments about my clothes, beard and hair, and the hottest girl was touching my shoulder and hair and demanded my number. Felt super creepy, it's so rare for it to happen, that I'm not psychologically in a position to simply accept compliments, it made me really suspicious.

I'm a 29 year old guy. I've probably received 2 compliments in real life. Tons online when I perform well, but that's about it.

Uhh, I think women know this quite well. The thing is, however, is that this isn't really true. What I mean to say is this strategy doesn't work on the class and type they actually desire attention from, even if it works on 80% of men.
