You must realise that evolutionary psychology only explain humans' psychological make-up, their inclinations and their behaviour, but that the real world is not necessarily cooperating with said inclinations.

Take men for example. We are wired to seek sexual variety, yet not every man cheats, has a harem of women or are unexclusive plate spinners. Many men - indeed the majority - are sexually exclusive. But if you could read their minds to find their inner desire, you'd find the same inclination for sexual variety, unrealised for them for whatever reason such as lack of sexual options, social pressure to conform, risk of losing their current relationship, self-control, blue-pill idealism, etc.

Same goes for girls. 100% of them have both the inner yearning for fucking the attractive male (AF) and the inner yearning for the support of a dependable man (BB). Yet most of them are exclusive to one man, who is only AF or only BB, or even worse, unsuitable as an alpha or a beta. And again, there are many reasons for reality preventing them from realising that AF+BB biological imperative, and that's often the same ones as those I listed for men.

If 10-12% are getting full-blown KNOCKED UP, imagine how many are actually careful about their affairs.

The thing to take away from studies like this is that the real rate of infidelity will never be understood completely, but its DAMN higher than 10-12% because those are verifibale cases.

You will probably be cheated on in your life. You have probably already been cheated on if you have had 5 or more relationships. Figure out how you want to react if you're one of the people who finds out about it one day in thw future. Think about it right now before your head is swimming in the heat of the moment.

Cuckoldry is a symptom of the Blue Pill mythology and more importantly an aspect of our Family Court system.

A man becomes a cuckold because he gets trapped by a woman in the straight forward way by getting her pregnant himself.

Any time a man is forced to pay Child Support that is a low form of cuckolding.

But cuckolding gets worse where men raise other man's children and even worse still are too weak to limit the Hypergamy of their own women and permit Open Hypergamy.

In the ideal Natural Law setting (1800's marriage) a man only promised to stay with his wife if she behaved. If she had an affair he could divorce and have no responsibility for her future. In addition only men could own assets or property and the children were always left with the head of household. (man)

So everything Blue Pill brings us towards cuckolding... it's just a matter of degree how bad it gets.

Good post. This makes a lot of sense. Effectively women seek a genetically fit, high status man and try to secure his commitment. If they cannot, they secure a lower status man willing to commit and then harvest the high status genes for looks and power, and maybe discreet resource favours too, from the most powerful males.

This explains why power gets women so excited - they may have a loyal partner in the background but they'll cheat willingly to attempt to branch swing into a complete package relationship, and if this fails they at least get exposure to power and/or good genes. What's interesting is that unlike men women will cheat with a powerful man as well as a good looking one; suggests they may be securing resource favours and even simply securing genes for power, in whatever form they are constituted. So men who are less attractive, provided they secure power and wield it with a smirk, can still adopt a short term mating strategy. However the easiest way to do so is through being attractive.

In a nutshell, women guage men on 4 different factors.

Genetic fitness (good looks, physically fit, etc)

Resources (power, money, education, ambition, being older)

Good parenting abilities (emotional stability, interested in kids, etc)

Good partner traits (loyal, reliable, loving)

Sorry, but I call BS. What women judge men on first and foremost is Tingles. The above is important, and part of Tingles. But alpha Chad who gets the pussy wet is the deciding factor unless she's locking down her Beta Bucks, and a man can still be BB with the 4 traits in this article. Especially the last 2.

There is proactive and reactive cuckoldry. All studies like this ever focus on is the proactive where a married woman cheats on her husband and defrauds him to believe a child he didn't sire is his to parent. Never do they consider preemptive cuckoldry where a woman has children with (sometimes multiple) men to deliberately become pregnant with the direct or indirect plan of locking down a provider-male who will "do the right thing" and wife her up.

The definition of "cuckoldry" is always narrow because our feminine-primary social order has molded Hypergamy, and insuring it's optimization, is the cultural normative. Even defrauding men into the support and provisioning of non-biological paternity is legally protected and ensures 'cuckolds' will be held liable for that support.

So in terms of outright deceit in cuckoldry, the numbers may be lower, however in a society that supports the now 40% of births being out of wedlock that narrow definition of cuckoldry is next to meaningless.

The problem with the long term mating strategy is that it tends to come without any mating. Or loyalty. Or affection. Or anything other than resource provision from the man.

If you want female sexuality, affection, loyalty or appreciation then a short term sexual strategy is the only option. Women simply do not respond in a favourable way towards men they are in long term relationships with.

Depends on the social class, and the time/age where it happens. There are a lot of blended families, there are a lot of cases where the girl brings her kids into a new relationship. Typically the guy raises partly his own and partly someone else's kids. Often knowingly, sometimes not.

It doesn't take into account birth control. A lot of women probably fuck Chad behind BB's back, but because they use birth control they do not get pregnant.

Absolutely. Her "fuck Chad" instincts are tempered by birth control.

Yeah, this does look like the case. High SMV women have less need to compromise. Splitting AF and BB is a riskier strategy for a woman than getting both in the same man.
