Laughing is nothing more than a form of social approval. The ability to make someone laugh is by expressing your own set of beliefs through one word: criticism. Take a look at comedians, for example. They are always, always criticizing.

If I saw a severely obese woman in a power chair with her fat flaps practically dragging behind her, my first instinct is to say "God damn. Have you ever heard of Planet Fitness?"

If you found that paragraph humorous/funny, it's because it's a judgmental comment. Judges have authority. Authority is power. Power is attractive.

In order to avoid looking like an asshole, you have to be judgmental towards people other than your target, while still only teasing her. Judgement and teasing are both forms of criticism, but each to their own varying degree.

"Cocky and funny" works if the girl is attracted to you, and you are a funny person to begin with. If these preconditions are not present, you end up being a dancing monkey.

I dunno. I really enjoyed some of David DeAngelo's material when I was first started addressing my issues with women, but I did not find Cocky Comedy to be some of his better material. The idea is correct, but I never found myself motivated by DeAngelo's execution of it, he's got better strengths as a man and a teacher.

I read this in high school. One wrong thing j took from it was being too negative all the time. Girls look through that. Otherwise this is great.

Jesus this is a long read lol.

Anyway, to share some personal experience in this matter, I literally just approached a girl while waiting in line at the supermarket.

I noticed something. That, before saying something, I could say it from TWO different places.

One being in line of a normal/please don't hate me reaction type conversation, making sure that what I say keeps her "happy" in that sense and that I appear as a "good boy", that I stay in line with society's expectation of what a conversation should be like (although not my experience of society, but since the majority of this sub thinks like that of society, I'll phrase it like that for the sake of discussion). And that I would keep it safe, non-sexual and not playful.

The second is well, the opposite of the first. Having an attitude that dares say something dangerous or not normal/keeps the conversation in a safe feeling. You're playful, you say shit that provokes a reaction but not in a way that beckons a feeling of hesitation, you say it and you're 100% confident that what you said just stacks to the conversation/energy levels lol.

Anyway, cold approaching is fun, gonna do more of this shit and get some lays hopefully.

Cocky and Funny = Creepy and Weird. A young man is better off lifting a few weights and building his wealth. He won't need "cocky comedy" or any other socially awkward PUA routines. He'll just need to enter the room and make eye contact. His muscle and money will do everything for him in a few seconds that a thousand jokes would.
