I'll keep this short (no pun intended).
I was watching something by this speaker, Eric Thomas. Yes, he's a motivational speaker. No, I don't watch motivational speakers. At all. But the stuff he says resonates with me. It's not the, "You can do anything!" bullshit that you hear nonstop. It's more of the "You could be the CEO of that company if you got off your ass at 5 am instead of hitting snooze until 6:15." Basically, he's a motivational speaker for people who are already on top of their shit and need that extra kick in the ass to take things up another notch. Shit like, "Yeah, you got a 3.5 GPA, but what was stopping you from getting a 4.0?"
Long story short is that I saw this video recently by him that gave me a lot of respect and a new perspective. He was discussing how some people are "wired differently". He gave some generic examples and then he went into a story about his wife. He said they were at the doctor's office & they found out she was diagnosed with 7 brain legions. I'm not knowledgeable on medical stuff, so I have no clue what the fuck that really means. But it sounds like some serious 'Oh shit this might kill me' stuff. He met this woman when he was 17. They got a family together. That's tough and shitty news for anyone to hear that their partner of 25+ years and the mother of their kids may possibly be on death's door. And you'll have front row tickets to see their potentially painful, pitiful, and agonizing decline to the grave over the last few months of their life.
His response to the news?
We got this. We'll work through all of the treatments and you're going to get better. You have kids at home who you need to see graduate. You have a life to live.
That's when he said he was "wired differently". He didn't cry. He wasn't depressed for the rest of the day. He didn't lock himself in his room for a week. He didn't take a leave of absence from his businesses because of "family problems". Didn't even miss a second actually. He didn't get angry at the world and yell, "Why me? I never did ANYTHING to deserve this! I'm a GREAT person and all I do is HELP everyone! This isn't fair man I swear..."
Nope. He stood there like a man and confronted it head on. That's what being "wired different" means. How do you handle adversity? Do you get in a pissy mood? Isolate from everyone? Take off from work or start slacking on your responsibilities because you're depressed? If that's you, you aren't wired different.
I understand this a Reddit for sexual strategy, but I think what's most understated here is the fact that a lot of your attractiveness will stem from shit completely unrelated to women. Part of what's making some of these TRP principles so difficult for you to integrate is that you don't integrate them in your life. You can't approach your work and personal life like a scared child and then magically turn into the sexy alpha hunk on Friday night every woman has been dreaming of. You can read all you want, but to a great extent: You are who you are. And most people can instinctively tell that from their first interaction with you.
If you're still in that angry phase of "Why are women like that? This isn't fair! It doesn't make any sense why she fucks that corny Chad who treats her like shit and a solid guy like me can't get pussy!" <---- Try to snap out of this thinking as soon as possible.
I don't mean to be disrespectful but some posts read like their written by whiny children, not men. Being an alpha starts in your mind first. You can fuck a million women and make more money than Warren Buffet, but if your mentality is weak, you'll be weak. And that's the problem with some of y'all. That's why bitches take you out of frame so much. That's why you keep sweating whether she'll leave, fuck you, text you back, text first etc. It's why you're still angry over who left you and who played you. Your mentality is weak.
I'm not one of those guys who will tell you not to give a fuck about anything. That's stupid. You're a human being and there's nothing weak in being one. Being strong doesn't mean being numb to the world. Actually, it's quite the opposite. It means feeling the negative emotions, embracing them, processing them in a controlled and responsible way and moving forward without a hitch. Not being outcome dependent and shooting for less because you can't take the disappointment of trying your hardest and failing. It means accepting who you are and your flaws entirely and making a viable self-improvement plan to give yourself the best life possible.
I'm not sure who's read this or if it's reached anyone. But for those it has, I hope this message is a wake up call. You're a grown ass MAN. We build rocket ships to go to the fucking moon, survive in extreme conditions in the wild, and sacrifice our lives in war. Society has normalized and encouraged weak, feminine behavior like lamenting over things for weeks and months at a time.
You CAN make it through whatever is going on. You WILL make it. You MUST make it. You can either choose to be depressed and scream "woe is me" or get the fuck up and face life and take every punch it gives you on the chin and get back up like it never happened. Nobody cares that your dad died in 3rd grade. I'm sorry. Nobody cares that your mom beat you or that you were sexually abused. Nobody cares that your wife left you penniless to go fuck your best friend. Does all that shit suck? Hell yeah. But what can you do? It happened. Re-living the fucked up shit that happened to you in life just traps you in the cycle of "Woe is me! Everything bad happens to me! I'm trying so hard and I'm such a good person but all this bad stuff keeps happening!" Life is fucked up. Accept it. It will never not be fucked up. Make it your mission to grow and continue to conquer no matter WHAT THE FUCK happens. No breaks, no time off, no isolation, no hiding from the people and problems. Be a fucking man and confront that shit head on like a warrior.
When you become that person, you'll be of a caliber that few men truly possess. And trust and believe that women will acknowledge. The level of strength you will exude in your character and mentality will be palpable.
I said this would be short but I ended up writing another book... Oh well.
TL;DR- MAN UP!
