Early 40s here. It's nature. Like many women men often want children and they are best raised in a two parent home seeing a healthy balanced partnership of masculinity and femininity. That is harder than ever today if not nearly impossible depending where you live IMHO. I almost got married at the end of college around 30 and I am glad I did not. As many of my longtime friends that have descent marriages others went through hell, some on round 3-4 for some insane reason. The reason is not so insane, it's nature. Men and women are hardwired to irrationality to reproduce, that is the only reason you have the thirst and why it feels so good. As social creatures we desire companionship and there is nothing like the smell and touch of a real woman to a man. Men built civilization to gain their favor deep down in the subconscious back of his skull but will rarely admit it. We live in a gynocentric world because that is what we built. aka to make some bitches 'happy'

Having said that... I can almost relate to MGTOW these days. After so many women that fail to measure up for LTR you get tired of it all. It gets boring and there are more profitable ways to spend time and still have fun. You guys call them plates I call them fuck buddies. Humans have needs and it's each individuals responsibility to see to them on your own. When I was 40 I dated the first 20 year old since I was 20. The sex was fun for a while but they are so dumb and bad in bed but are at least trainable most of the time but never last forever. It can seem lonely sometimes but having a large social circle, enough money in your pocket for whatever, and a busy calendar doing mostly shit you love makes the pain go away.

Women are a burden but a noble one if you dream to be a family man just know the risks are greater than the reward on paper since the pool of optimal women is small. A woman will never love you for you, just what you can do for her as long as you are the most useful and must constantly need to feel your masculine power in some way or she'll find it elsewhere quickly. If you seriously 'do it' for her she will work her ass off to make you a believer in love as long as you are on your a-game 24/7 and always win but even then nothing is guaranteed forever. It depends on what you want in life IMHO. If you want to be a family man you better be going to school for something good and land a good job fast first. Find the youngest lowest n-count most conservative or sheltered woman you can find and lock her down hard and hope for the best. If not, get a vasectomy and wrap it up to stop STDs. You still have to be a-game forever but can dip from the young carousel riders almost endlessly or hire high quality professionals or be a sugar daddy; do whatever you want. No matter what there is always a cost some place in the details even if the cost is just time, risk, or knowing your relationships with women are forever superficial and fleeting as the big O. Not an easy choice. Lots of them will not be here because they are too busy sans the ones that want to warn the younger men of pitfalls. It's also worth taking time away to yourself occasionally to refocus and recharge. The TRP mantra is true for every woman I have met in the last 4 decades ages teen to dust. Lift, enrich your life, and if you want to keep women around never let them distract you from your mission or be their slave. They are along for the ride or not, give 0 fucks either way and keep moving forward with or without them. No risk no reward.

As a successful (by any standard) bachelor of over 36 years i can assure you it is not the youth culture driving redpill behaviors. It's the amount of unhappy, married men in our friend groups that makes the decision decisive. Plus the EXTREME abundance of beautiful women acting out against society standards in all age groups and for a multitude of reasons.. The thing is, i doubt many men working, traveling, spinning plates have time to response on askrp.. i rarely see askrp only because im just done w a 21y/o waitress and headed back to my hotel while on business. You will see more and more of us as more and more are sickened by seeing their childhood friends get divorce raped. No doubt this was the best choice for me.. can't speak for all but once i found my happiness the women in my life, as well as approaching new candidates, fell right in line with my expectations.

I'm 53 years old. I have two adult children from my first LTR who I raised by myself from jr. high on, two young children from my more recent marriage (they're with me 45% of the time), and a granddaughter (with another one coming soon). I have a decent job that I like -- I live in a nice little house in the Northern California redwoods -- I have a girlfriend who has her own place and her own money. All and all life's pretty good.

Also, I'm feeling pretty good physically. During my eight years of marriage I let my health take a back seat -- I was literally killing myself trying to satisfy my ex's never ending material desires. Over the last 18 months I've made being healthy a priority again. I've lost 70 pounds which has allowed me to go off diabetes medication. I'm also taking care of a heart issue that had really laid me low. I'm feeling better than I have in years.

I was going to write a long winded story on how I ended up in my 40s and single (and never divorced) but the TL;DR is:

I've tried LTRs. For more than a decade. I saw the betaization attempts and nexted them when they were crossing boundaries. Women always do that. They have no clue on how to maintain a long (emphasis on long) term relationship. If you go beta they lose attraction, if you're untamable they go crazy.

So that's it. I don't feel lonely (mainly due to my job, I interact all day long with all sorts of cool people) and I don't have a lack of partners (Rollo's curve is accurate: from 35+, every year it's easier and easier to have sex with women around my age, and the age bracket I can reach is wider and wider - younger girls hare harder ofc but very possible).

The focus of my time and energy does not go to avoid and resist the betaization attempts of a nagging LTR, but instead to my business and my body.

I am happy as a pig in mud and I have no desire to live otherwise.

The key point you are missing is that 35 year old Chad is no longer Chad. People only think about women aging, but men obviously age as well. At 35, a man's testosterone is rapidly decreasing. He's put on some weight. He no longer has that 6 pack or drive or youth or energy or athleticism he once had. He doesn't look quite as good. He no longer effortlessly pulls women. Any man, even Chad, is well aware of this, and decides to settle down. He is not getting married by 'choice', more of accepting reality. If he could stay 25 banging a different girl every week he certainly would. But men and women aren't as different as we think. We grow old. Looks fade. You can't be Chad forever
