Intro: This will be my first actual post on TRP. I found the sub indirectly through Rollo's The Rational Male in April of this year, and I've been consuming as much RP content ever since. Long story short, BP me had a history of oneitis with girls that he never even got close to getting with. Was worse than an orbiter. HB9 in a sorority got cheated on by her BF, broke up with him, I asked her out to my fraternity formal and she declined. She knew I existed but that was because I was supplicating. (does that even count? typical "nice guy" shit lmao) That night I came back to my dorm and saw her signing in her ex. Made eye contact with her and she got red and looked to the floor; he smirked. Rip. I went up to my room, went straight to bed, and started reading The Rational Male knowing full well that she was getting her insides rearranged by Chad. Can't confirm or deny that I cried a bit. Rip.

Fast Forward to the present, and I'm fresh from a pickup bootcamp in a major city. Now don't give up on me just yet, I've got some cash saved up and this was pretty cheap, I booked it the week I got rejected because I literally had nothing to lose. Grew up as an only child in a small town in a neighborhood without a lot of kids. Got introduced to video games by my dad at a young age, and subsequently wasted my life up until my 2nd year of college. Consequently, I don't have the social skills that the average guy does because I missed out on 10+ years of talking to people. So I thought this pickup camp would help. And it did to a certain degree. Had a lot of fun in the city and met some cool people. Came out better than I came in. That's where this report takes place. Sorry for the fluff but I felt as a first time poster I needed to establish a background so you all can understand where I'm coming from and hopefully give me some solid feedback.

THE REPORT

Fifth day of bootcamp in the city. Wake up at 10 and get myself ready. I've been working out for about a month, and walking to all the meetup locations (totaled to multiple miles every day), so I'm down to 169 pounds and feeling great about myself. It isn't saying much, but I'm in the best shape of my life. Found a drop in gym to keep doing Stronglifts, walked there and got my workout in. Great. Ended up talking to a few girls to warm up on the way and back. No numbers, probably little to no sexual tension, my biggest problem is not making my approaches man to woman and sexualizing conversations. But progress is progress and me just approaching and having quality conversations is a big step.

Meet up in a park with the coaches and the students. Start gaming, but it's rather slim picking today. Either that or I'm a rationalizing pussy. End up sitting on a bench people watching with a new friend of mine, talking about girls. See a HB8 walk up to these 2 girls sitting on the bench next to us and she tries to give them fliers advertising a music festival coming up. She gets shot down. I'm muttering "Please walk over here" really fast (only my friend can hear me, he's trying not to laugh), and she walks away from us back towards the park center. My friend gets up, says "If you don't I will" and takes a step. For some reason I just bolted right by him, must've been my lizard brain.

Walk up to this girl, slightly in front so I can open and stop her. Conversation is roughly the following:

Me: "Excuse me, I noticed you're passing out fliers and ---"

HB: "Oh hi! Yeah I'm working right now I have to pass out these fliers for [redacted] film festival next weekend..."

She cut me off and just started talking with a smile and eye contact, even I'm not that dumb that I can't tell she's giving me a chance. She proceeds to tell me about the festival, and that naturally leads into me asking why she's there, what she does for work, why she's in the city, etc. After a few minutes, I offer her help with the fliers. Figured I wasn't doing anything and I could banter in between groups of people and try to pull. She happily agrees, and I immediately take charge of the situation and start pointing out people to approach. I was on my game! I could sell ice cubes to Eskimos that day. People were generally very receptive, I was doing most of the talking, was push-pulling the people and getting them interested. She was constantly glancing at me while I was doing this. In between groups I'm trying to get to know more about her, starting to tease and flirt, occasionally lightly touching her arm or shoulder for kino, etc. We end up finishing what was supposed to be a four hour job in 50 minutes, and when we're done, we keep walking for a bit and then she stops.

HB: "So, you said you were with your friends, I feel bad that I've kept you from them for so long. Where are they?"

"Oh, I don't know. They're around, but I ditched them for the better deal." She laughs.

HB: "So what are you doing right now?"

Holy shit I have a chance.

Me: "I was thinking of getting a coffee, would you like one?"

Pause. Tense for me as she thinks it over for a second.

HB: "Yeah okay I could go for a coffee. I was going to meet my friend but I'll just have them meet us where we go."

Ding Ding Ding! Holy shit I got an instant date!

This is getting long, I'm a very wordy person, so I'm going to try and condense the rest to the most important events/dialogue.

I lead her to a coffee shop, keep talking, order and pay for our coffees, sit down and proceed to talk some more. Mainly about her college experience (recent graduate), hobbies, etc. Teasing when opportune. Then her friend shows up. And it's a guy. Nothing to worry about, he's a skinny kid about my height, maybe an inch taller, nerd. Film student. Press and find out they're roommates. Still kinda worried that they're banging but as time goes on it becomes clear I'm in the clear.

But here's the thing: I started to lose my momentum. This new guy got introduced to the group, and the problem isn't that he AMOG'd me. He didn't. The problem is that they now have plans to meet up with some other friends and I have to figure out how to fit into the situation to go for the lay. I'm in too deep to bail with a number, and I've been vibing with this girl so there's no reason to leave.

Talk in the coffee shop. Fast forward out, I start to lose my lead. I defer to the group. Demoted myself to someone who was tagging along. Kept bantering when possible, but walking three wide on city crosswalks is hard. Get dinner in a shithole. Friends they were meeting later aren’t responding, so they want to get some booze and head home. I'm sticking with them, it's starting to get weird. Guy friend is looking at me a lot, but not challenging me. Get some booze, tell HB to get a bottle of wine despite them not having the kind she likes. Tell her to just pick one. She does. She also insists on paying for it.

Now we're on the subway platform. Guy friend is giving us space. Thought this was awkward at the time, but ffs this was golden. He's giving you space to pull you fucking retard! HB asks me a couple times what we're doing. I just play it off like I'm along for the ride.

"I don't know, we'll see what happens."

RETARD. She's asking for plausible deniability so you can smash you autist.

Walk up to her apartment. I say it's nice, very nice. It is. Expensive, nice view. I ask to use their bathroom, come back. Silence, awkward stilted talking. Guy has a "friend" coming. SHE shows up, it's his gf or some chick he's close to. They talk for a few, go to his room, then LEAVE TO GET FOOD. His girl is halfway down the hallway, turns around and knocks on the door, motions HB to the door. HB steps out into the hallway, maybe a minute later comes back to the apartment.

Hindsight: THIS WAS THE MOMENT I NEEDED TO MAKE A FUCKING MOVE. THE DUDE AND HIS GIRL LEFT ME ALONE IN HB's APARTMENT WITH HB. GREEN FUCKING LIGHT, MISSION CONTROL WE ARE READY FOR TAKEOFF.

I'm sitting down, trying to play it cool but I'm nervous af because newly RP but-not-internalized me could get laid with an 8 if he plays it right. HB walks back in and stands in front of me, and nervously says:

"Yeah, so I'm gonna have to kick you out, I'm tired so I'm gonna take a nap"

It's past 8 at night. Who the fuck naps at 8PM, 187OddFuture?

Her apparently, because I awkwardly acquiesce and start putting my shoes on to leave.

So now I'm in the hallway, back to the door as she's seeing me off, and she's standing there brushing her hair over her ear like mad. Repeatedly, like a dog itching itself. Doesn't take a genius to figure this one out.

Retard: "Well, I had a lot of fun with you today it certainly was a ride."

HB: " Yeah, me too."

Retard goes in *wait for it* FOR THE FUCKING HUG. THE HUG. ARE YOU SERIOUS?

End up leaving and taking a shitty uber back to the coaches for a debrief.

God fucking damn it.

THE LESSON

The lesson, my red-pilled brothers, is to ALWAYS, ALWAYS go for the kiss. Always be escalating. She brushed her hair back as a tell. She wanted me to make a move. She even indirectly mentioned her bed. She wants to take a nap at 8pm? A fucking NAP? All I had to do was go in for the kiss at the door, or just recognize the shit test and say anything other than what I said. We didn't even open the wine. I could've played an even longer game and had a glass of shitty wine with her, then make my move and get the lay. ALWAYS GO FOR THE KISS. ALWAYS ESCALATE. It's better to escalate and get rejected than to not escalate. Women like risk takers. It shows value. It makes your intentions clear.
