This is such an important point. I always recommend watching the documentary This Film is Not Yet Rated. It's directed by the same person who directed The Hunting Ground and The Invisible War, and it explores how female pleasure is censored in films while male pleasure and violence is deemed acceptable for children to see.

I honestly can't stand when I'm watching a movie or series and they show rape scenes for absolutely no reason. (Sure character development, but you can imply a traumatic experience without actually showing it)

Watch sex and the city, plenty of shots of female orgasms in there. Watching that show for first time made me realize we need more shows that talk about female sexuality openly.

Showing a woman's face in orgasm would not be for anyone's entertainment but men's either (although I agree with her overall point). The problem with being a woman in our society is having everything about us made into a sexual statement--pain, pleasure, even doing absolutely nothing. We don't exist for ourselves.

I seriously believe that any film maker who could choose to make any film they want but chooses a film depicting a woman getting raped is morally corrupt. This is not entertainment. Ask those same directors and producers if they’d show a man getting raped and buried alive and they scream in horror. They’re hypocrites living out a fantasy of female abuse. They tell themselves it’s ok because”it’s just a movie.” Fuck outta here.
