Social media has become an echo chamber which doesn't require facts or logic to back up statements. With that being said, thousands (if not more) people who are inclined to believe hearsay can effectively ruin a mans career by posting his social media history to workplaces etc even if it doesn't constitute anything bad. E.g. calling some #metoo posts bullshit makes you a rape-enabler etc.

When will this end? I'm a medical student so I'm affiliated with the GMC and it's bullshit how our opinions aren't allowed to be expressed because there's always someone who'll be offended over it. I called some wage gap bullshit out for what it was, via Twitter, and then these 60-something year old white knights started threatening to call the GMC for not taking women of colour seriously and being transphobic. But these idiots have more power than I do, for the simple reason that I chose to do something with my life whereas they just bitch about things on social media.

Getting fed up of anonymising everything now...just seems like we're letting idiots win.
