Lena Dunham is a case example of what it's like to live in a constant state of victim hood.

First she was the victim when OBJ was not interested in her because of "internalized misogyny", instead of perhaps her being a dull, unattractive woman who does nothing but bash men and is surprised that men aren't all that receptive to that kind of behaviour.

Then she was the victim when people called her out for airing an opinion that has no basis in fact (much like what she's made a career off of doing) but only this time, it was "the Internet people".

I'm of the opinion that nearly all feminists younger than sixty are fucking nuts. My mom broke the glass ceiling in her career and the only time a man helped her out, it was my dad who went to her work and had a polite chat with her sexist (the guy tried quid-pro-quo on a woman whose husband had beat a .44 magnum wielding kidnapper to death with a tire iron) boss one time. A few months later the poor guy got drunk, doped himself with heroin and sucked the end of a .32 caliber revolver a touch to hard and painted the inside of his car with his brain matter.

All my mom wanted to do was her job and not be sexualized while she did and not be considered for a promotion because of her gender when she turned out work product superior to her competition and worked more hours than her competition. That's the kind of feminism I can get behind.

But this bullshit of making ever minor act a fucking call to arms or some accusation of misogyny, harms all women who are just trying to work a good job and earn pay commensurate with their performance. I had my mom watch Girls (I bought her a tablet and one year subscription to Netflix for her sixty-first birthday so she'd have something to watch when she was on the elliptical at the gym for an hour nearly every night). And after the first six episodes she told me she had to stop. The main character, the fat ugly girl (Lena Dunham) was too annoying and insipid to her.

Granted my mom is pretty RP and cast aside all her single (divorced) female friends because she couldn't handle their drama.
