A freezer is your friend. I buy boneless skinless chicken breasts 40 pound box for $1.20 a pound. Divide them into meal size packages and freeze. Occasionally I get them on sale for under a dollar a pound. also being willing to buy large packages.of beef or pork and cutting the whole thing up into roasts, steaks chops, and or stir fry/stewing bits saves a ton of money.

If you incorporate intermittent fasting and/or longer-term fasting into your diet, you'll stretch your food budget even further. You can start by skipping one meal a day. (Going keto too will help.)

A suggestion : get a rice cooker from Walmart (the 10.00 ones are great, and def start cooking boiled potatoes or baked potato.

I do the same thing brother. Cook enough for a few days and I just have to cook a protein to go with it. Usually chicken thighs or fish and once a week a nice steak.

Buy a small pack of miso paste to mix with soy sauce. (1 tsp miso per 5 tsp of soy sauce) Makes rice less boring and wakes up veggies.

Also learn to spot herbs that grow in yards. A lot of gardens have "runaways" in the next yard over.

Many public places use rosemary as a decorative shrub. They trim it yearly because it grows so fast. Pluck a stem or three for meat flavoring.

Why the pure rice? It would be better to mix in some oatmeal, buckwheat and quinoa to cover nutrition that the rice itself is lacking. Shouldn't cost you that much more money either.
