My little sister is 14 years old, and she told me about her first heartbreak. Luckily they never actually dated, but she is heartbroken because she had a huge crush on him and he said some really mean things to her. She asked me what she should do since I'm 8 years older than her. I'm so glad she came to me for advice, and I told her that she should continue to have fun, focus on her friendships, school, and hobbies. I told her that it's normal to start developing feelings at her age, but I warned her that almost all guys her age are jerks and to expect this until she graduates university. I myself wish that I never dated in high school because it seriously fucked me up...16/17 year olds are not ready for commitment or sex or intimacy. My parents told me this when I was her age, but I didn't listen because I thought I was "mature" and I thought I was going to marry my first boyfriend.

Fast forward to university, I was further fucked over by all these trash guys who only wanted to get into my pants. I fell for their tricks because I was young and naive. I honestly think that girls shouldn't start dating until 21 and that they shouldn't have sex with someone until he says "I love you" or at least proved that he is very committed (i.e. by introducing you as his gf to his friends and family). I wish it was "politically correct" to say this, instead of having condoms thrown at you during frosh/welcome week at university while surrounded by horny trash teen boys/exploitive upperclassmen.

So what advice would you give to a teen girl? What advice would you give to someone in their late teens/early 20s?
