My husband works shifts and weekends. We already planned our "shifts" out and he took a month of vacations to take care of our baby so we don't get stressed out the first few weeks. It's pretty easy actually, if you have someone who does care about you AND your baby. A way too tired mama isn't a good thing at all.

In this thread, you will find women making excuses for why their shitty husbands can’t help take care of their own child.

Guys, these men all have super important jobs so it’s best to let them sleep why you stay up all night and day with a baby and neglect yourself.

How many women are going to allow themselves to get into this completely deluded and unsustainable routine to be surprised later when their husband cheats on them with a women who doesn’t live in sweatpants and has time to shower?

Stop making excuses for your shitty husbands.

What I’m reading here is that daddy took parental leave (or at least some type of break) but mom still ended up doing the heavy lifting and now he’s nope-ing the fuck out of any future responsibility by claiming his jerb precludes him from doing anything but sometimes feeding the dog and getting together a bottle. Father of the Century! How lucky is she!

Look I know this is gonna be downvoted to hell, but I gotta say something. When my babe was first born he woke up every 2 hours to feed. My husband would wake with me and get me what I needed or u know whatever, but after a couple weeks of this my husband was driving to work (one and a half hour commute) and FELL ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL and crashed into another car. Thank God he wasn't badly hurt and no one was seriously injured, but it scared me so fucking bad I told him to just sleep. The truth is I'm okay with being a little sleepy if it means my husband is alive and well. He helps enough with the baby when he gets home and on the weekends that I honestly don't feel neglected or sleep deprived. I got to shower and chill for a bit when he came home and watched the baby, and on the weekends after my son's morning feed he would take him down and I would sleep for another 3 or 4 hours or whatever I needed. He never woke me up on the weekends and let me sleep however long I wanted. He put him to sleep himself for a nap and everything.

My point is, different things work for different people and you guys shouldn't be judging this. I was reading this and trying to figure out where the LVM were. These women sound fine and like they love their husbands, and most of them said their husbands picked up the cooking and cleaning too. It sounds extremely fair to me.

Galls, don’t take it the wrong way but I kind of agree with the fact that responsibility distribution is subjective to the family needs. As an example, if the husband is utilising heavy machinery as his day job and would be in a position where sleep deprivation could affect or even kill people around him, I would be understanding if he wasn’t involved in waking up at night to care for the baby.

If he’s a shitty dad that won’t even change a diaper or won’t help at all, he can get in the bin.
