Please, please try. Try to dispel the narrative that society have fed us since we are young - the myth that a noble and worthwhile life for a woman is one where she gives up her everything for a man until she is just an empty husk of her formal self. A husk that the man can then remorselessly spit on and kick away for a shinier and fuller woman who had not yet been damaged and drained by him - which is exactly what your husband would do to you if he was actually half decent looking and capable enough to bring home enough bacon.

Work out, diet, do skincare, do makeup, find yourself again. Become the most beautiful version you could be inside and out. Not for him though, never for him again. Do it for yourself and gain the confidence he stolen from you. Stay or leave, that is your choice, but just realize the cold hard fact that your husband is shitty vampire (and not the sexy kind either) and monsters like him don't deserve your heart.

Once someone gets the “ick” for their partner, it never goes away. Even if she was hairless with 20% body fat and saw a cosmetic surgeon to get her pre-babies body back, he would still not find her attractive. It’s over and he isn’t going to try to change. He doesn’t want anything to change because he has a nice life as a kept woman with very few responsibilities. The only thing that will change in that relationship before they get divorced is he will probably start cheating (or she will become aware of it because it’s probably already happening).

When I got fat and stopped shaving my legs, I was actually prepared to have my husband lose interest. He didnt care. Our sex life was still awesome and when I asked why he didnt comment on how my looks changed he simply said "As if hair and fat could keep me from adoring you?! Also its your right to stop shaving your legs. Its not my Body!" And I wasnt even working at that time. This is how HVM react. If he really cares about you he wouldnt even let you overwork yourself to the point of self-neglect. He wouldnt make degrading comments about how you look. Voicing concern? Yes. Being a prick? No.
