How do you feel about momma's boys?

It's a red flag, unfortunately I had to learn this the hard way. He will put mom before you time and time again. The type of mother who encourages this mommy's boy behavior is toxic, she will see you as a threat and he will not protect you from her hateful behavior (which is often passive aggressive).

It's usually a big red flag because it means they were over mothered and had everything done for them. Then they expect a woman they date to basically do the same thing and completely mother them as well. Which I find disgusting.

my ex spouted feminist and women-loving rhetoric, big mama's boy, but still wound up in him being physically, sexually, emotionally abusive. It was weird because his mom seemed generally detached from him. But he's still living with her and can never hold down a job so he's working at her at-home doggy daycare. Until he can find a new gf to support him. Being a mama's boy doesn't say much to me but normally I interpret it with a negative. He'll always hold her above you, which if the goal is to be a wife and/or have a family someday, it's wont be as endearing anymore

I'm not a fan. It seems to mean they either live under their mother's thumb, or they expect you to be their surrogate mother while they're living with you. Both are 👎

It depends. I don’t like mommas boy who use their moms as crutches.

But I do like mommas boys when there are healthy boundaries in place and not that enabler crutch relationship.

I’ve noticed the ones with healthy boundaries tend to have respect for women in general.

I am both a mommas girl and a daddy’s girl. So personally, I look for men who share that closeness with their parents. I prefer not to date men who aren’t close to their parents.

How do I feel about mommas boys? I believe most ‘men’ are mommas boys whether they flaunt it or not. The need for unconditional love (we need to look past their shitty behavior while also being a “Madonna” in their eyes) and their casual disrespect of women which is very similar to an idiot child who gets comfortable lying to their mothers so that they will get out of trouble shows that men generally do not want equal partners. Either they aggressively overcompensate to get back at their mothers who controlled their lives or they act pathetic to get us to baby them (most woke performers are in this category).

While there’s plenty of honest to god momma’s boys described above in the comments, I feel like if he labels himself that it might be a shitty way of him trying to convince you that because he respects his mom = he respects women? Not sure why a guy would call himself a momma’s boy, it’s human nature to love your parents, crave their acceptance, and want to do what your parents ask of you within reason.
