Breakfast or lunch are better than dinner in my opinion. Dinner is an evening activity, sex is an evening activity. Men are less likely to expect or pressure for sex if you avoid dates in the evening. Breakfast or lunch are also more transparent, it's in the daylight, people could see him. So less likely that he's cheating or sleeping around. It'll also be less likely that he will drink alcohol during the date, so he doesn't get to rely on liquid courage.

Breakfast is a go for me, shows he’s actually the early bird he claims to be. Lunch too. At a decent place and where not drinking is perfectly fine, of course.

Lunch as a first date is a-ok with me. I wouldn't want breakfast to be a first date, morning is my time especially on the weekend. If I'm in a relationship with said person and he wants to take me to breakfast, that's fine with me, but he needs to respect my morning routine time.

I think it's fine as long as you don't allow the earlier time of the date to end up in a prolonged date. So just because you have the whole day ahead of you doesn't mean you let the date drag on and on. Always keep it 2-3 hours max.

I would personally see this as a green flag, all else being equal. You generally learn more about a person's "real life" getting a glimpse into their daytime routines than their nighttime ones.

I LOVE going to lunch / brunch dates! Meeting during daytime means you can actually do some activity after that (museum, visit a monument, go to the beach, whatever) so that's the moment to see if the guy's got creative ideas. It also lets the guy know to not expect any sex.

I'm fine with a lunch date but not breakfast. I'm not a big eater early in the day so that's not worth it to me. If it's lunch I make it clear that my time is limited, I have other plans for the rest of the day and I keep the date short.
