Does anyone have any texting advice?

I come across as too eager. Rules for myself:

let them text first (the hardest for me)
my responses should be fewer characters than theirs
let them have the last word. It'll test whether they try to prolong the conversation

These are not necessarily tips I'd recommend to other people. I impose them on myself because I am over eager. I also like texting first because I'm lonely AF right now. Just got to reign it in.

Very simple solution. Don’t text. Explain that you’d rather talk on the phone. If he can’t honor that simple request, he’s a throwaway anyway

Same. After a slew of online dating I find having whole conversations over text is a mother fucking waste of time. ANYONE can be good/bad at text. Case in point- you. You are charming and interesting but your text (you think) convey the opposite. I'll text a bit then casually mention I like a video chat and phone calls. From what I've seen HVM will happily oblige as they want to make you happy and want to chat with you. LVM won't follow through as maybe they were just looking for an ego boost or they just suck salty balls.

I've hated texting since I graduated high school... so boring. I think I'm gonna stick to occasional phone calls from now on. Honestly, I dont need daily phone calls, but a good morning, have a good day text will suffice on days we dont talk on the phone.

Today I delete a guy because although I was answering rather promptly, he said "u seem busy aw" (I think aw stands for "anyway"). I had advised that I was reading prior. So I said " I seem busy? I'm still reading but I'm still answering you in a good time frame. We just started speaking today 🙂" he tells me I took it out of context. Uh, no I didn't. He went to go pick out tile 8 hours ago so methinks he likely ghosted for not being at his beckoning call. For reference, I was texting back every 30 min or so. Earlier, I didn't respond for an hour and he had the nerve to ask if I was sleeping. Ew.

Lay off the roids/whatever you're on - they're making you unstable af.....or alternatively, go figure out why you feel you own a woman 5 seconds after meeting her you insecure sons of anarchy wannabe man-child. Be gone.

Before this sub, I probably would have apologized to his massive aggressive bs.
