just posting here because this is a trick some OLD scrotes use so beware.

before the 1st date this dude was practically begging me to date him. Met for dinner and he purposely chose to come to me without me even having to ask. 1st date kept asking "serious" compatibility questions like if I want kids and my religious and political views and we mutually established we don't date casually and want something serious. The date went smooth and for the 2nd date he asked to take me to a nice restaurant also near me.

2nd date was slightly awkward but overall decent. It wasn't wow, but he was my type and I saw some potential. At least until towards the end of the date when he mentioned to me that I wouldn't hear from him for a while because he was taking a temporary 2 week job assignment out of town and would only be back on the weekends. He also mentioned the next weekend he was having friends from out of town visit so it would be a while before I heard from him. Seemed super weird because of the timing of when he brought it up, and I should have blocked and deleted him then. But when I asked him about it, his response was very detailed and made sense with his line of work. I also had to work that weekend anyways.

All of a sudden after this date he texts me randomly at 1am, nothing sexual just an article we talked about, but I found the timing super off-putting since he previously only texted me during the day. A day later he again texts me at 12am asking me if I wanted to come to the city (where he is) this Friday. No mention of any activity or date plan or time or any actual reason for me to go there. Also no mention of the fact he literally told me he would be out of town for work during the previous date. Time he texted is red flag number one. Lack of suggested activity is red flag number two. Location is red flag number three. Blocked and deleted right then.

Thanks to FDS, I know exactly what this guy was trying to pull. probably was really into me the 1st date, but because the 2nd date was just ok he decided he could get away with stringing me along while he searches for a girl hes more into. Definetly came so far from my pickme days where I would have tried to clarify and ask him about his intentions or given him the benefit of the doubt.
