New to this subreddit though I've come across a lot of the ideas here the hard way.

After reading a few "posture" posts recently, I've been consciously reminding myself to stand up when I'm outside and walking. Desk work sucks for posture, we all know this.

So I leave my office building in our complex this afternoon to get some air. While I'm walking, I notice I'm slouching so I stand up. Simple reminder. I go get a coffee, head back.

Back in my building, as I get to my desk, one of my female coworkers stares me down, to the point I wonder if I've spilled something on me. Then she starts laughing.

"Well isn't someone cool as shit today?" She starts in. I say "obviously" but have no idea what she's talking about, so she goes on to tell the room how she was driving back to the office and saw me walking to get the coffee and was going to wave, but I was owning that shit so hard she figured I wouldn't even notice. "You were on a different level" is about how it went.

Nothing was different, just that I was standing tall.

I just roll with it, sit back and confirm that yes, I am on a different fucking level. She ate it up.

The dyed-in-the-wool beta in the room tries to join in laughing, thinking she was laughing at me instead of understanding she was covering up a show of admiration. It was good to bask in the glow of him getting shut down while I locked down new SMV.

Little change, big reaction.

Edit: -died +dyed, because I make it a point to listen to men with pitchforks
