Yes the myriad of choices... take a plan b that will mess up their bodies for potentially months or years, have an invasive and extremely emotionally taxing abortion or give birth that will maybe wreck their bodies and minds for the rest of their lives.

Also why is this person so obsessed with hair care. Like yes intricate hairstyles take skill and time and even I couldn’t do it but like... no one is asking you to do that. Watching a YouTube video and taking an hour to practice for your child is not much to ask for. Women aren’t doing their daughters hair just because it’s a woman’s job. They’re doing it because you care so little that you don’t even want to try.

I’m not defending this guy, but he had it right when he talked about hair. Especially Black women’s hair. Black women are forced to go to specialty stores (that aren’t even owned by members of their community) to find products for their hair or go to Walmart and find their hair products locked up while products for “everyone’s hair” are not. They’re told their hair is ugly, unprofessional and unmanageable. It’s not equal to child birth at all. I think there needs to be cultural sensitivity in terms of feminism and not just “ALL women suffered in chains for men.” We did, but not in the same way. WOC suffer WAY differently than non communities of color when it comes to resources and access.

Non WOC may have more “choice” in men when it comes to getting impregnated, as this guy asserts, but who gets the stigma of single motherhood? Black women. Who are more likely to die in childbirth due to poor treatment by health professionals? Black women. Which communities have the least comprehensive sex education resources? Communities of color.

Something to think about.

Oh man, I so wish Id thought of this when kiddo was growing up.

Cant wrap my brain around the argument of the man braiding his daughters hair is almost always cause there is no mother. Like, am I missing something? Are men biologically incapable of braiding their own childs hair if a woman is present? The whole rant was anyway a really long way of saying he thinks men are trash. Sad part is, Im pretty sure he doesnt even realize thats what hes saying.

A girl's hair requires far more maintenance than a boy's

Only if you want to. It's not a requirement for being a girl. I never go beyond washing and brushing, and going to the hairdresser when it gets too long. It still looks nice and I receive compliments for it.

People need to start separating being a woman from the huge amount of effort, time and money a woman would have to spend to look like a model in a photoshoot. It's not the "acceptable" or "normal" way to be a woman. Why do we have to go over and beyond for our appearance when men don't?

If you think that hair is the hardest part of raising a child, then I'd guess that you don't have children (or aren't actively doing what you need to as a parent).

(For now, I'm ignoring that he thinks that women are basically completely responsible for birth control ...)

It annoys me so much that women are always blamed for "choosing" worthless guys. I'm pretty sure that wasn't their intention, they were almost certainly manipulated or coerced into thinking this guy was a good fit for them. It's such a victim-blaming mentality.
