They don't want sex unless a tall, attractive, wealthy, strong, perfect man comes along and pushes all the right buttons in the right sequence when the stars happen to align. As soon as they feel secure in the relationship, their drive withers away. Daily life is booooooooring!

I've said this before: the problem a lot of women have after having ridden the carousel is that she creates an ideal man in her mind that no flesh-and-blood man can match. He'll be a romanticized amalgamation of the most desirable traits from all of those men. As rich as the richest guy, as funny as the funniest guy, as driven as the hardest-charging guy, as attentive as the guy who made the grandest gestures, as exciting as the most impulsive guy, and as steady as the most serious guy.

The fact that no one man can be all of those is of little significance... indeed, the fact that some of those traits directly contradict each other is of little consequence. Why? Because feminism is based on the idea that whatever a woman perceives to be in her immediate interest is all that matters. We see it in the demand to be simultaneously treated like an equal and treated like a lady. Insisting on the right to vote but without the obligations of military service or even taxation is a macro example.

At the micro level, a woman who has extensive experience (especially intimate experience) with many men will find herself unable to be content with any one man. It's not because any one man is inadequate, or that men are intimidated by "strong" women... it's that trying to please such a woman is a fool's errand. The "man" he's competing against isn't even real. Hes a mind-reading, idealized, ever-changing-but-never-aging mishmash of the best traits of every man she's ever been with.

Nobody tells women that they need to be the best at everything to be worthy of a man. In fact, women are generally told that all they need is a pulse. If that were not true we wouldn't see so many average and below-average women convinced that they deserve men with traits that only a tiny subset of men possess. If you look at the list of requirements women routinely put in their dating profiles, it's not at all unusual to see them eliminate upwards of 99% of men, with some profiles eliminating literally every man on Earth.

It's the paradox of choice: endless options and extensive sexual experience makes them miserable.

The issue is that men do not need sex, they just think they do.

As soon as men in mass discover the power of no, feminism ends

Feminism didn't sell women anything. Rather feminism is merely the collectivized aspects of female nature.

So feminism didn't change or ruin or sell women anything. Feminism merely explained and revealed women as they really are / really want to be.

whatever a woman perceives to be in her immediate interest is all that matters.

Yes. This gets right to it, I think.

When she wants a boyfriend, the nice, kind, average looking man with a little money will do. When she wants validation and affirmation, its sex with good looking men. When she's horny or needs the itch scratched, it's sex with hardbody players.

When she wants a LTR, the good looking up and coming man gets her there.

When she wants/needs a husband/father for her kids, any man with a steady paycheck and his own place will do.

It's all about what she wants/needs right now.

Feminism didn't create this in women - this is how women are built. But you're right that feminism prioritizes a woman's immediate interest because that's what women consider.

This is why women weren't allowed to lead this - because they think only about right now. They don't think farther than 2 weeks from now. Women think only about themselves. It's all about me, and it's all about right now. Whereas men - are thinking about next week, next month, next year, 10 years from now.

[โ€“]BluepillProfessorEndorsed 10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

It is not that they are selfish. Women literally cannot think of anything that is not in their own interest.

We were watching Outlander and there is a sequence where the lead character- an empowered 20th Century woman sent back in time to 17th Century Scotland- endangers the entire group after ignoring her husbands explicit orders.

Neither the lead character or my attorney/CPA wife understood the trouble she was in. She tried to talk to the men at dinner but was ignored. My wife commented: "That's pretty rude."

Remember, she had put the entire group in danger! We had just seen several whippings and brutal treatment of young men who had endangered the group but my wife could not comprehend that she had done anything wrong in ignoring her husband.

My adult son was not even watching the show with us but happened to be in the room during this scene. He did not even see the whippings but he understood immediately what the woman had done. He applauded when the husband took a belt and whipped her bare ass but my wife was absolutely shocked and could not understand.

She is barely capable of understanding concepts like duty, honor, and obligation so I hardly expect her to understand things like discipline and the virtue of suffering for your family and for your clan.

It is the reason men built Civilization and why it is being destroyed. We used to think of the big picture and let women worry about the moment. Now the men have been so feminized I don't even know what we value today.

[โ€“]The_Meep_Lord 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That last paragraph is exactly why traditional systems made the roles as they did.

Now men are so lost I would not be surprised if there is large movements or rage at everyone and everything in ten or so years. As so many men are not only wasting there youth out of ignorance, but seeing one deadbeat getting everything that they wanted and then some. Doesnโ€™t bode well.

At the very least we will have a lot of men just screaming โ€œfuck youโ€ and accepting death over cooperating.

Traditionally, the idea was that men picked the girl they wanted to marry because she was the primary benefactor in the relationship and menโ€˜a preferences still work in society.

Otherwise men would just leave the woman after her usefulness is up as the man she likes will not love her and this will not care to take care of her as she ages.

There are no good looking, hardbody players out there. There are some guys on roids, but that comes across and insecure and tryhard.

I think this is a manwhore fantasy that men have tbh. You don't see women going to gyms to pick up hardbody players. Dude please! You'll attract more women by being a good baker. (that's a free tip)

Well said. This is very true.

The fact that no one man can be all of those is of little significance... indeed, the fact that some of those traits directly contradict each other is of little consequence. Why?

Because hypergamy floats! Feminism is merely female nature codified into law and culture.

Nobody tells women that they need to be the best at everything to be worthy of a man.

What does it mean to be the best at everything?

If you mean best at accomplishment - women don't need that. Men don't care for her degrees, her money or any other form of accomplishment.

If you mean best at being a human being - yes, this is indeed what they need to attract a good man. To do this, they need to keep their being in good shape. To act like a human being, not like a human doing. To not ruin their being like the rest of the whores.

In fact, women are generally told that all they need is a pulse.

Exaggeration, with a kernel of truth, as explained above.

If that were not true we wouldn't see so many average and below-average women convinced that they deserve men with traits that only a tiny subset of men possess.

I don't understand your logic on this one. Hypergamy is a function of female nature. Since when does hypergamy need to follow reality? Did you forget that:

Reality is a tool of the patriarchy!!!

The hypergamous instinct has her pining for the highest that's out there. Doesn't matter that it's unrealistic for her to gain access to the very best. She feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeels like she deserves it and so she does. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

[โ€“]MyDadlovedMacBeth 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

This is why marriage is against the genes. Hypergamy is DNA-deep. A woman wants to transactionally pick a man to mate with. So if Ugg is a great hunter and she's had a couple of kids with him, if Drog comes along with better genes or genes that better match a new environment of the tribe, then Ugg is out. This is why the female mind amalgamates the most desirable male traits; because she doesn't care about the worse genes; she only cares about the best genes for that time and place. The fact that Drog has great genes but is an asshole, doesn't matter. It's not like she will live with him or anything.

[โ€“]ThaiEscapePlan 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

worse yet. another group of men can come and kill all her tribe's men. no matter. on to the next...

Eventually you get over reading War Brides but it takes time.๐Ÿ’‹

[–][deleted]1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I've often wondered whether women have the hypergamy "gene" because life was nasty, brutish and short until the last few centuries (i.e., for the vast majority of human existence). Since men were warring with males from other tribes and liable to be severely injured or dead from hunting dangerous game, perhaps women "learned" not to put their eggs into one basket (one man) and to be open to other men being their providers?

No offense bud: but have you ever had sex with men?

Most guys out there are not rich, funny, attentive, porn studs. If they were, many women would be on tinder begging men for casual sex.

9/10 men are mediocre at best, and usually disappointing. Even if the guy is great (and some guys are) women don't appreciate sex with men anyway.

The carousel is the price that women pay for being able to troll for rich guys (that they never find btw).

Before the carousel women had to get married and stay married.

After the carousel, women get to try to trade up for as long as they live. But the price is that they have to have pre-marital sex.

Look at how women feel after they have ridden the carousel: used, bitter, angry with men. This should tell you that the carousel is not a fun ride for women. Most women pretend that it's great, because it's pathetic to admit that they have been pumped & dumped by losers.

Here's an obv fact that most people ignore: rich, funny, attentive, studs are taken. They're not on tinder giving out free helicopter rides and great sex to mediocre women.

Even if they were, the women on the carousel are too stupid to date those men. Understand that you're talking about female losers and idiots getting pumped & dumped by guys living with their moms. Nothing of value is being exchanged on the carousel.

No offense, honey, but have you ever been a guy a woman threw herself at?

I have... I'm no "Chad" and I'm not talking about a lot of different women, but if you think women view sex with men they find attractive as a "price" they have to "pay" to get commitment, you haven't been paying attention to how your fellow women act. I've seen college chicks literally line up to dance with a really good-looking guy in a group of lieutenants I went clubbing with.

I work with a group of guys (we're in our 50s), and we travel for work so we eat out together all the time. We have nicknamed one of the guys "The Waitress Whisperer" because of the way women act around him when we're out. They're not doing it for tips, otherwise they would act the way they do for all of us... and It's not just waitresses, either: I've seen him get cold-approached by female patrons more than once.

Women throw themselves at men they find attractive with little regard for securing commitment from those men.

It's been shown time and time again that women find about 20% of men to be above average in appearance, and while some of those women may be disappointed in the short term - and many of them may be filled with self-loathing in the long term - they'll keep going back like moths to a flame. I've seen it, and every guy here has seen it, too.

You make some interesting points that I don't have time to address because I have to go to work now, but I agree with parts of what you wrote. Maybe I'll come back to this later.

No offense, honey, but have you ever been a guy a woman threw herself at?

When women throw themselves at Chad they give him money. Sex is what women give to Betas.

Women throw themselves at men they find attractive with little regard for securing commitment from those men.

That makes no sense. If you find a guy attractive, why wouldn't you want him all the time?

Women are not as focused on appearance as men are. There are a lot of men that women might find attractive objectively, that doesn't mean they have any interest in those men.

If a woman is serious about courting a man, she will do the same things that men do: show her ability to provide for him, and generally suck up.

A woman going back to sleep with a man is low effort. That woman is not serious about the man.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Women throw sex at attractive men all the time, and the idea that women display "provider" status - rather than sexual availability - to men they want is too ridiculous to even bother to answer.

Also, look at the famous OKCupid study about how men and women rate each other. Women are more focused on looks than men are.

Think like a woman: "this man is attractive. He probably has a dozen women who are willing to sleep with him. Even if he sleeps with me, he can get someone better at any time. Time to break out the wallet."

If it's a beta women will think: "this guy doesn't get sex, all I have to do is split my legs and he's mine".

Also, look at the famous OKCupid study about how men and women rate each other. Women are more focused on looks than men are.

Yes women rate some man as attractive. Do you think that means they want to have sex with those men? Marry those men? Noooooo.

Ron Jeremy has slept with more women than all the world's Chads combined.

Sorry for being a couple months late to the discussion but while I agree with you, don't some men (at least a minority I think) become "herbivores" (like Japanese young adults) due to similar reasons? Idols and anime girls can give an impression of purity/chastity and also a lot of sexualization (hentai for example) and porn stars might set unrealistic physical standards (so can hentai). That might make some men completely lose interest in real women because those things set the bar too high so real women can't even compete.

[โ€“]Temur-Temujin 43 points44 points45 points 5 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

As Patrice O'Neal used to say, men and women deal with 2 different kinds of rejection. Men get rejected on the front end and women get rejected at the back end. Meaning, if a guy goes up to 30 women and none of them agree to "go on a date/have sex" with him, that's front end rejection. For the average woman, getting a date or finding sex is trivially easy. What's difficult for them is to keep a man around and extract resources through commitment. So if a woman dates 30 men and there is a breakup, regardless of who initiates it, that's an example of a woman getting rejected at the back end, and the implications are endless. Even if 30 men were all bad, abusive, that still shows bad judgement on her part. Well if the 30 men were all solid dudes all around, that just makes it even worse.

Not to mention, another comedian Chris Rock used to say, women can't go back in lifestyle. If one man in her life, took her to vacations, had his own place, had a car etc or even one of those, she'll find it nearly impossible to go back to dudes who have less, or if she does, the next guy won't be able to get the same enthusiasm, submissiveness, cooperativeness out of her. Add to this the fact, that women get emotionally traumatized easier, the odds of which only increases by dating and exposing herself to more men. Fact of the matter is, with women's hypergamous nature, it'll be increasingly impossible to please her and she'll be unhappier, that's without mentioning the potential of her becoming alpha-widowed.

All those factors being added up, it'd be best if a woman stayed virgin and bargained it into marriage by demanding huge upfront commitment like large wedding and an expensive ring to filter out the sleazy fake losers. Conversely a man would also get a solid deal by getting together with a virgin woman. She'd have no previous partners to compare her current man, they'd explore all kinds of sexual positions, life experiences together for the first time with wonder in their eyes, instead of the non-virgin woman being unimpressed with a resting bitch face aura on her, because she'd have experienced better days in the past with other men

I always wanted to grow up to be married to a strong, independent woman with lots of experience having sex with other men. You know, preferably one that looks and acts like Oprah or Lizzy. /s

Yeah, for real. Who the hell wants a girl who has no sexual experience? That's sooooo boring! It's just impossible to expect ME to do all the hard, grueling work of teaching and learning our sexual compatibility and enjoyment together. It's much healthier for my future wife to learn how to operate her body through a string of uninterested, apathetic, strangers who use her like a rental mustang on track day!

It astounds me when I hear girls turn their nose up like that, as if "experience" is in any way desirable to dudes. Barfffffffff.

[โ€“]MrNeurotypical 9 points10 points11 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They just expect that we want what they want. Solipsism and all that.

[–][deleted]1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

And yet, there are plenty of men who DO want an "experienced'' woman. It's very hard to be told all of one's life to remain chaste and then turn into a slut for one's husband-this leads to dead bedrooms.

Itโ€™s possible... you just have to meet young, like 18/19 or younger. That way you really can grow up together and truly make a life together. That being said, thereโ€™s very thin margins to meet a life partner at that age. But itโ€™s possible

I have a bridge in Narnia that I want to sell to you.

Too late homie. I already did exactly what I said in my comment, donโ€™t need the bridge.

It's a difficult thing to get but not impossible in the right circumstances, if by 18 you haven't already met your lifelong partner your chances to have that kind of relationship dramatically decreases with each passing year.

I am in the same boat as Bennyjig, any man who hasn't gotten it is not likely to get it, tough luck. It's not just meeting the right girl either, you have to be the right man too, a good one. It's asinine to expect to have a relationship like that if you're a porn addicted gamer with no prospects in his life or something similar.

Wat?

Also, you're missing the main point: that modern marriage is a terrible deal for men, regardless of how good the woman is.

I am in the same boat as Bennyjig, any man who hasn't gotten it is not likely to get it, tough luck. It's not just meeting the right girl either, you have to be the right man too, a good one. In other words: you have to be a good human doing slave to continue to earn her affection.

In other words: you have to be a good human doing slave to continue to earn her affection.

Hahaha, how did you infer that from the points I made? Is not being a porn addicted loser the bar for being a human doing slave these days? All you have to do is not be a loser and be born with the right genetics, be born in a country where family values are appreciated, and meet a high IQ woman who shares your worldview and values.

As you can see everything but being a loser are things that are out of your control, which is a shit deal for men no doubt, as it shows that having a lifelong traditional relationship with a high value woman is a very unlikely thing for the vast majority of men.

Not being a loser is the easiest shit in the world though lol, women or no women who would want to be a loser? You just have to be a lucky son of a bitch and not be a complete loser, no slaving away lol.

It is, of course, not fair as it's mostly out of your control. But so is poverty so what gives right?

Hmm.. Possible.. May be by a small percentage.. Cuz based on the profiles I see on this sub.. . It looks like most girls are done riding cc by that age and are looking for bailouts..

Itโ€™s possible... you just have to meet young,

That won't change the terrible laws and culture.

It also won't prevent her from becoming unhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaapy later on.

Virginity isn't everything, it's one piece in the puzzle.

This is true, very small window of opportunity there and if you haven't met someone by the time it closes it's pretty much game over, sure you can meet someone later but it won't be the same. I had multiple opportunities at that age but lacked the maturity and good judgment to realize it at the time. When you're older all that remains are the scraps (single moms etc), and the dating landscape is drearily sparse.

[โ€“]Temur-Temujin 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

You're not wrong there buddy. That comment was just my answer to the question about importance of virginity. Hymen or virginity seal is scientifically, medically, not real. No other animal has it, it's just made up concept but when people believed it in large numbers like when they believe in currency, religion, empires or nation states. it worked tremendous wonders. Now we're just in a freefall, islam or any other religion is certainly not the answer.

[โ€“]silly_birb 10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's called "sexual liberation" exactly because there's no more a deal in relationships.
Women are "free" to make choices but want beta men to pay for the consequences, even just the emotional damage of the cock carousel.

It's funny how from time to time some manosphere youtuber says " I am not mgtow but i cannot say those guys are wrong "

That's because being right or wrong at societal level works only if there are traditions and customs that everyone abides by. Right now it's a mish-mash of many beliefs and convictions. Of course nobody can say for sure who is in the right or in the wrong. That's just the times we live in. not a lot of order in cultural context. Scary isn't it

What's the problem and what's the solution?

[โ€“]Temur-Temujin 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm going off of the book "Sapiens". It basically describes how at some point around renaissance religion stopped solving problems or other solutions outcompeted it. Medical science became better, ideologies had an easier time co-opting members into its ranks people started specializing to the point where today, any problem comes up, we never ask for the solution from gods. Alien invasion, asteroid strike, climate change, big problem or small. There is an app for that, there is a pill for that condition, there is a therapist for that trauma, there is a doctor for that illness, there is a think tank with a solution to that problem etc. So as far as I'm concerned, help isn't coming from religion. When it comes to the solution i'm honestly stumped. We're sort of in a crisis situation and the roman republic is a good example of how masses deal with crises. From 130BC to 10BC, there are series upon series of crises and romans can't help but keep electing dictators with emergency powers. At first the dictators give their power back, but eventually crises last years with no end in sight and it becomes irresponsible to just give the power back. The declining birth rate, rampant promiscuity, breakdown of marriage happened in rome, exactly the same way it's happening now. But back then the First Emperor Augustus enacted draconian laws and enforced it which extended Rome's supremacy couple of hundred years longer. Before christianity, he outlawed adultery, made the offense punishable by death, made it outrageously expensive to be single, gave exponentially rising benefits per number of childer etc I think that's what people saw in Trump. They wanted roman equivalent of Marius, Sulla or Caesar, populist individual who'd solve problems singlehandedly. I have no idea what to do, but that's where my train of thought usually ends. What do you think is the solution?

[โ€“]blistersoul 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Objective standards are necessary, either through religion or rule of law. Whichever method is chosen, neither can be considered equal or subservient to love- ever. Why is this? Because no act can be considered so evil that it cannot be said to have been motivated by love. Therefore, love must be contextualized through a higher objective concept, such as religion or law. This is the triumph of Christianity, as it begins with FAITH, proceeds to a GIVEN LAW, then contextualizes that law with LOVE. It's important to remember that "Scientism," the belief that only science gives knowledge, is a philosophy not a scientific principal. One does not cancel out the other.

But she can just lie and say she's a virgin, unless she made hardcore sex with thousands of guys, there is virtually no way of knowing if it's true, there must be another way to find if someone is worth having a serious relationship.

[โ€“]Temur-Temujin 11 points12 points13 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That's just life bruh, women's game is all based on deception. They lie about their beauty with makeup, withdraw sex after marriage, sometimes lie about who the real father of a kid is, cheat with another man,, file false rape allegations or as you said, lie about their sexual history. There are obviously other ways to judge a woman's qualification to be a wife. Just like how women have a laundry list of demands from men, every man should grow a spine and create their own list of requirements and extras

[โ€“]Nerdialismo 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree 100% with you, we should be as selective as women.

[โ€“]hecklers_veto 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is why families used to keep a close eye on what their kids were up to and made certain behaviors taboo.

The patriarchy was there to protect women, and thus all civilization, from the consequences of her bad decisions

Had to explain this to a very nasty bitter 32 year old. Squaking about why do Muslims make such a 'big deal about virgins. (She took it upon herself to look stuff up and get angry) Told her...it's not just Muslims and it isn't even necessarily about virginity...except that lack there of is a decent indicator of some very big problems that may be there...where as virginity shows a better chance of a successful match and lack of problems that many women with lots of negative experiences are likely to drag into a marriage or relationship.

Oh god from where should I start ๐Ÿ˜‚. A gay woman struggles way more than you guys, believe me. Before when I was younger i struggled with dating cause I was listening to women's advices the typical advice being bad bitch, strong independent women bla bla bla.

the problem with lesbian women they are way more selective than heterosexual ones , so while looking for relationship advice on YouTube i discovered the red pill by luck and i start viewing relationships from a man perspective , the sexual market the roles of looks money, and status and so on. So i used this mindset for my advantage, and i got some success .

Yours is definitely a unique perspective and valuable one! Contribute to the sub often, hopefully your posts will help some of the ladies.

I knew a young lady looking to dabble in the sapphic realm that was complaining/worried about her lack of success (it wasn't due to lack of physical appeal) in finding someone to date.

It was amusing watching the lightbulb flick on when I informed her that since she is wanting a female partner that she would have better luck using a more male style strategy and not get to over-invested in pursuing any particular individual or passively waiting like she could when dating men.

She got a date lined up within 24 hours of that epiphany.

Women that fuck a lot of dudes end up seeking a Perfect Chad that's her own special 'composite' of the good qualities of her fuckherd without any of the bad ones, and she will never really settle for less than Him after years of having a small taste of Him from each fuck toy boy.

Virginity is not intact hymen. You missed the point of article. Virginity is lack of experience not tightness of hymen.

[โ€“]moorekomMod 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Aka innocence. This is why women promote getting pumped and dumped as maturity.

I knew a woman who had an intact hymen after having a baby.

And therefore?

As for the response by u/Sake99

Virginity is not intact hymen. You missed the point of article. Virginity is lack of experience not tightness of hymen.

I tried to not define virginity too rigidly, because virginity holds different meaning for different people. You can argue that it's a combination of several factors combined.

However, what's inescapable is:

  1. Virginity was valued across cultures, throughout history.

  2. Even in today's progressive - sexually positive - culture, virginity and notch count are still a thing. If it wasn't, it would be like a handshake, a toilet seat or a bed.

Do you know how many people you shook hands with? Does it matter?

Do you know how many toilet seats you sat on? After all, you did pull down your pants for them?

Do you remember how many beds you slept on in your life? After all, you did sleep with them!

No. You don't remember any of these and if you do, you're insane!

You don't remember them because they don't matter. You do remember how many people you had sex with because it does matter. The few who lost count also, merely lost count of something that matters to most people. To lose count means it's in the realm of counting.

Furthermore, every man has a number of previous partners, after which a woman becomes disgusting in his eyes. I bet none of them care about the number of toilet seats she pulled down her pants for...

All of this demonstrates that these things matter, even today. People may shame it as archaic, but it's just a fact of life.

[โ€“]Sake99 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women value external factors in men...

Men value internal factors in women....

Virginity will always be valued. Even the chaddest of chad would settle with a virgin then with a slut.

[โ€“]Jihocech_Honza 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

because it does matter

It was V. I. Lenin who wrote something like "having sex is like drinking a glass of water". Do someone think Harvey Weinstein would be senteced to 29 year if he just had forced young women to drink a glass of water?

Bolsheviks forced the ideas of "free love" as part of their revolution against bourgeois culture, but after watching the societal collapse, J. V. Stalin turned to much conservative way (family is ground of the state).

[+]flowerwoven1 points 5 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Virginity is so simple it's disturbing that there is anyone out there who can't understand it. When you are in love with someone you don't want them to have had sex with other people. When you love someone you would never do that to them. You would only have sex with them. If you do it before you meet you already ruined your ability to truly love them.
