How important is physical attraction in a relationship?

I believe a relationship needs both physical (i.e., sexual) and emotional attraction. Both components are necessary.

My personal opinion is yes, physical attraction is important in a relationship. However it isn't everything. Physical attraction is what brought me and my hubby together and keeps us intimate in the bedroom. Our love built from common interests, humor, adventure, how we support each other... you get the idea. Personally I need physical intimacy to feel connected to my hubby and being physically attracted to him is a huge help in that department. If I wasn't attracted to him, it would most likely lower my sex drive, and less intimacy between the two of us would make me feel less connected with him.

It absolutely matters. And it's okay that it matters. While it's wise to know/understand and accept that, as we age, certain things will change. But what cannot change (at least not for very long & illness aside), is that attraction that our partner induces within us. This is not only about the physical, no. But if you're already not sure, then I doubt it's something that will happen. Is he mentally stimulating? I find that "dumb" men are a huge turn off for me no matter how physically attractive they are. Is something else missing? In any case, I'd say that physical attraction is imperative.

I believe that it is important in relationships. You have you look at him (physical appearance) whenever you are around him, not his personality. Both physical and emotional attraction matter in relationships.

If there's anything he can do that doesn't seem radical to make you more attracted to him, you could drop some hints. I.e. shaving, haircut, growing the hair out, dressing differently, etc,

It's important but 100% attractiveness doesn't exist or even 90%, unless he's/she's like in 1-10% margin of most attractive people. If you find someone at least 50-60% attractive for you personally and they also find you attractive, I believe you already won the lottery, if they have other traits you like.

Honestly, a really ugly guy can become hot to you if the connection is there. I think the fact that you’re not attracted to him physically means that you’re not that into him in general.

If you are an older woman under an 8, you shouldnt be too picky. I just got my teeth done and rose 2 points and my guy gets stares everywhere
