Excerpt from Fascinating Womanhood:

“A man wants a woman he can place on a pedestal and worship from below. He expects her to be kinder, more patient and understanding than he is and rather considers himself the more unrefined creature of the human race.

If a man becomes thoughtless, harsh or critical, he may be willing to overlook it in himself but is disappointed to see woman— the angelic creature of the earth— fall onto his level.

He may at times shake her pedestal by suggesting some unrighteous act. He does this deliberately to see if she will remain in her high position. What a disappointment it is if she falls in character, and what a joy if she remains unshaken. Remaining on top when she is tested is further proof that she belongs there”

This quote is at the beginning of chapter 12 about "A Worthy Character". This sounds like shit testing to me. Or maybe something a little different? Virtue testing?

If you have read my comment/post history, you know that I have talked a lot about shit testing. How I feel compelled to do it to my husband (especially now as he is taking on a leadership role in our marriage). Im testing to see if I can trust him with my submission. Testing if he is congruent. If is is strong. If is he is consistent.

Im am curious what your thoughts are… redpillwives and also male redpillers: do men shit test? “Virtue test?” Does this apply when vetting, or in marriage as well?

Because I can see it happening in dating/vetting from a male perspective. A man likes a girl, tries to have sex with her on the first date, is disappointed if she does because it means (might mean) she has had sex with lots of other men on first dates (lacks modesty/chastity). This would be a kind of testing if he actively or subconsciously wants her to say no in order to prove to him she is virtuous/chaste.

But Im curious if anyone thinks this testing happens in marriage. I know the virtuous women are appealing to men. My husband will be more attracted to me when I am disciplined, unselfish, gentle, tender, modest, dignified, humble and patient. And my husband will be less attracted to me when I am lazy, selfish, immodest, vain, and irritable.

But, do you think husbands will actively test the virtue/character of their wives?

Curious about thoughts on this.
