I generally don't agree with them when they describe The One That Got Away. That guy was certainly not "the perfect MAN" just another delusional fantasy they like to make up in their mind when they hit the epiphany phase. It's a sort of a retroactive imaginary alpha widowing.

What I do know is that in those "few strings of almost-ships " with guys that "were not half the person her ex was" there were in fact more than a few good enough guys and probably a few were better than this particular ex . That however would mean she fucked up more than once and she can't cope with that as easily.
