What is Patriarchy?

What is Patriarchy? Words are the way we communicate but when words become meaningless then they can become worse than useless, they can become dangerous. Is it a way of grouping men or is it a group of men. If it's a specific group of men then who are they? If it's an unknown group of men then how do we know its real or even deliberate. Is it a deliberate way for all men to exclude woman or is a power play from a group of men to exclude women. Is it the evolution of men and it consist of the wounds of men and it has become a healing of men. Is it what women and some men call the power play between men and women? I'm I patriarchy, or am I part of the patriarchy, or am I outside of patriarchy. The original meaning is a society based along patriarchal lineage but that's definitely not what it means any more and I don't think that even applies. Is it bad or just sick, is it evil and deliberate, is it the wounding of all men that comes out as toxic behavior. What is Patriarchy?

You'd almost think their posts are satire or parody. What would a person write if they wanted to ignore men's issues while pretending they cared? Hm...

I am currently writing a thesis about female identity in video games, and how to promote more multi-dimensional female characters. I want to include a chapter about how a more open, less hyper-masculine representation of male characters would benefit the overall goal. Can you recommend literature?

You can't expect feminists to support men's right issues. At least not all issues.

Feminism is founded on core philosophy that 'men are the oppressors, women are the victims'...

Any situation that violates this belief is rejected by feminism.

Feminism will support men in issues that benefit women directly or indirectly. Example- paternity leaves, men doing more child care, etc.

But if you raise issues where women are the perpetrators or those which remove female privileges such as F on M rape, gender biased rape and DV laws, paternity fraud, non-bio fathers being forced to pay CS, false accusations..
Feminists will either dismiss or downplay those issues. Or will outright defend female perpetrators..

Same thing they do with men's suicide rates.. The main reasons are financial and relationship issues. (Mostly caused by women)....
But they victim blame men for suicide. Instead of owning the responsibility of the problem.
That's where 'toxic masculinity' is invented. .

If you go to menslib, you will see this pattern.

They are either blaming men for most of men's issues or fighting for issues that are too trivial. (Like paternity leave). Rather than more serious issues like suicides, false accusations and gender biased rape laws.

They do raise issues of Gay/transgender men unbiasedly, though. Probably because it doesn't affect women much anyways..

Women win political seats at the rate they run. There is no barrier for women that isn't there for men.

There is no evidence women have less social power than men.

Do we live in a monarchy now? The 1600s called and want their stupid argument back.

The residual effects are fading and nearly gone. We know this because young women today are more educated and out earn men. Again, they gain political seats at the rate they run. Even with men in more political seats, men pass laws that benefit women, and that has been going on for decades. Ignoring men passing laws for women rights just because it was a man that did it is disingenuous.

That system isn't patriarchal. The only part traditional families that was patriarchal was kids having the man's surname and thats it. The woman controlled the household and drove purchasing decisions. He had control over making money, and she had control over his children and spending that money he made.

It was cooperation, not an oppression. Feminists like you think that because the woman wasn't making bank, she was a slave, and that isn't true in the slightest.

Stop making up bullshit to justify your stupid theories.

There is no barrier for women that isn't there for men.

But there are and have been barriers for men.

Previously the UK one of the parties had designated some of the safe positions as women only. I understand that this practice was later ruled illegal, but the women elected stayed in office.

So today they have women only shortlists, which effectively do the same thing.

So as with so many things, women and men often play by different rules.
