Having a blue pill upbringing, with parents that coddled the shit out of me, I've ended up succumbing to my impulses to play video games. And the fact that my life is shit (99% because of them) makes me use them for escapism even more.

How the fuck do I get disciplined? Should I uninstall everything and the operating system and quit using the computer cold turkey for a few days? But I don't have any other hobbies, aside from working out and going for walks.

Edit: I tried /r/getdisciplined but their "start slowly" approach didn't worked as I relapse after a week or 2.

Edit 2: To edit furthermore, because I feel like, given that reddit is mostly populated by gamers, the issue is (probably) that I realized how much shit my life ended up being that I am stuck in the perpetual circle of gaming to escape/ignore the pain of failure. Akin to drinking to forget. But starting gaming from a very young age makes shit harder. I had easier time quitting smoking than this.
