Weekly self-reflections with RPW 18/1/16

The good: I feel like I'm in the matrix where you suddenly start seeing the code everywhere, with the code being rp. The more I am feminine and submit, the more he is masculine and leads, the easier it all just feels. Keeping bf happy is so easy and uncomplicated, it really all comes down to what we've been saying in RPW (such as giving him food, not turning him down for sex, not being a bitch, thinking before speaking, being his soft place, telling him how much you respect and admire the things he does, etc). We make it so much harder than it really needs to be. I don't need to plan the ultimate romantic weekend with scavenger hunts and horseback riding on the beach. Guys are simpler to please than we are.

I defer as much as I can to him, and he leads with ease taking into account my preferences. This week I've been asking him more about his preferences so I can cater more towards them (such as the hair length/color her prefers (he pretty much likes what I have right now, auburny-red and brastrap length), clothes he likes, and so on. He's staring at me way more than I am so I want him to enjoy the view :)

The bad: Not sure if this is bad, but I'm finding it hard to keep up with house work since all my spare time is spent with him, lol. He also has pretty much said outright that he wants me to move in with him after my lease is up but I am resisting it a bit, at least right now. I've known him since last spring but we've only been romantic for about a month and while it actually does feel like living together would be 'right' the logic part of my brain is saying "It's crazy to be talking about living together so soon". I've even told him that and he's agreed, but we both feel like we've never had a relationship before that felt this great or easy or right.

This week my boyfriend wanted us to do something pretty inconvenient for me. I started rattling off the reasons WHY it was inconvenient. Then something clicked and I just told him what I wanted. And he said "well why didn't you just say so?"

I'd like to thank RPW for that little insight.

I've made some progress with the whole frugal thing. Not as much as I would have liked, but better than nothing. I didn't ask to go out last week, but it was my birthday and my bf insisted on taking me out, he also got me a much more expensive gift than I had gotten him for his birthday (humblebrag intended :p). I had to buy some new bras yesterday and since I'm a tough size and am picky about the fit I splurged on some nice vavavoom VS ones. My SO pitched in on them with me which is nice. My frugal response is to donate some of my gently used older bras that don't fit me anymore to women in shelters, I'm sure they could use a bit of glamour that comes with a fantastic push up.

I'm still looking for more ways to be frugal.

The good: Sat down with my husband Saturday and showed him how I had been tracking spending. He immediately began thinking of ways to improve it. I also went through some of the bill paying stuff, but until he wants to wait until he has a system that works better.

I am committing to eating better. This is something that is hard for me, but I need to lose about 30lbs and it is time that it is gone. I also want to be healthy and here for a long time for him and little bit.

My face is healing (slowly). I am reading up more on skin care while I have found something new to tide me over until I get it all figured out. Of course the new stuff I am spot testing on my wrist before rather than my face!

The bad: I am concerned that I am going to have to remind him of the financials. I know I should just let go and let him take charge of it, but this is going to be hard.

There was a few times I became snappy with him, but I quickly took a step back, took a deep breath and apologized.

The ugly: I am impatient. Really impatient. I am stressing how will everything change between us, how will things fall out from my change in behavior. I have an image in my head and I am scared that I won't see the leadership like it is discussed in The Surrendered Wife. Maybe I need to read it again. It sounds like voodoo, she did this and he stepped up. I know I just need to be patient, but I get stuck on the "What if's".

Good: This past week has not be bad at all! I've been working on slowing down my thoughts and not being so emotionally reactive. Short of one minor hiccup that I'm forcing myself to get over, the week has been relatively nice. My boyfriend met my cousin and they got along rather well. All in all, very good.

Bad: I suck at awkward silences and I don't know when to stop myself from talking while embarrassed. I am working to be comfortable with silence.

Ugly: Nothing this week yay!!

Goals for this week: * Continue reading Proverbs 31 materials. * Work on implementing STFU policies in my relationship. * Be comfortable with being mentally quiet. * Continue IF for the rest of the week.

Ugly: starting with this because I'm really disappointed that I picked a fight on Sunday. It was extremely embarrassing behavior and not really something I've done since I've started posting here so I'm disappointed. My general pattern of fight-picking had been to hold onto the anger/anxiety for a few days so I am going to make extra sure not to do that this time. I think my BF has noticed the change in my behavior over the past month and I can tell he sees the fight as not as big a deal as I did. He's made it clear that I need to stop acting that way, but I also think my better behavior over the last month made it less frustrating. Going to get back on the grind and make sure not to repeat that mistake.

Good: I decided to add about 10 minutes to beauty routine.

The GOOD: I meal planned for this week and everything so far has turned out delicious. I also planned my week's outfits and its helped me shave off about 20 minutes from my morning routine which I've been happily spending snuggling up with my man. I've also been good about not snacking, sticking to 1200 calories and hitting the gym hard. I feel confident that I will look my best on my wedding day!

The BAD: Work and wedding planning have me swamped and stressed. I've been trying not to bring it home with me, but I have been going to be pretty early and retreating into my books and computer just to decompress.

The UGLY: I cannot stop chewing my nails and cuticles!

The good: typical Stepford wife behaviour, clean house, fresh cakes, bread, pizza dough, pancakes, ice cream, all from scratch. Frugal living, plenty of fruit and veg, healthy diet. Pinterest toddler activities galore, potty training him well, going to the gym often

The bad: Man I'm grouchy and keep doing the whole 'well I did ask you to do it x time ago' which I hate, we had an argument this morning (which never happens). I hate myself for it. He has a chronic health condition which is getting him down and I hadn't realised hod bad he was and how hard he's finding work. Lots of blowjobs and massages this week.

I'm having a cold at the moment and also a very stressful time at work. That combination is not doing me any favors. It has been hard for me to keep up the housework, to the point that my house probably now looks after cleaning, as some people's before cleaning. I have definitely come to the realisation that I need to take better care of myself, because I feel my health and energy levels are the biggest bottleneck and standing in the way of being a good wife and mother. Ouch.

I'm actually really proud of myself this week! I handled getting space really well and have chosen joy, gratitude, and first-mateyness all week! Yesterday I was a bit tense but I openly acknowledged it, apologized and never directed it towards my SO. He was grateful for the communication and gave me direction on how to feel better, which I appreciated. Sometimes he just blows me away!

This week, I want to stick to my exercise regimen and shave my legs every day (so difficult because my bathroom is appallingly cold).
