I am not sure if this is the right place to post, please forgive me if it is not. I feel very shy about posting this as I have never posted here and also never talked about these things I read, to anyone. Probably because in the mainstream it is not socially acceptable. I am sorry if this is already a common topic, I haven’t seen it here yet.

In the past few years I keep getting drawn to websites where men write about the corruption of American women and they all sort of go looking for foreign women, especially Eastern European. I do prefer the blogs where the men are looking for a wife and not just notches, and I have learned a lot from them.

I agree with a lot of what they say, and I find it hard to even be friends with plenty of American women because of how awful they (in the mainstream) can be. I don’t want to sit around eating massive pizzas and man-bashing about how every guy is immature and boys are stupid. I have friends that still do this, they say “boys are stupid” and they are in their late twenties. I knew a woman once who said she would get excited about “boys” and she is in her late 40s and it was not cute anymore.

I am American of course although I have grandparents from Eastern Europe and was raised a bit influenced by that.

Anyway, I often think about how I would like to take inspiration from the way woman are in some other countries, but I wonder if men just decide I am like any other typical American and don’t care if I consciously try to go against the tide of the culture, or won’t notice and give me a chance, even if I make a deliberate decision to renounce the ways of this culture and learn from another one. I know it’s not the same as growing up with it though.

And of course, we all know that it’s harder to do when you are fighting against the whole culture which encourages man hating, being fat, and so on. Oh wouldn’t it be lovely if we lived in a culture where it was normal to all be accountable to other women for eating too much (and didn’t started screaming “anorexia!), ignoring your fertility window, not cleaning your house, seeking a man, and everything else.

Of course, these men comment how when the foreign women move here they start wearing sweatpants, eating cookies, being loud etc.

Oh, and I realize these men may idealize the women just because they are exotic, and these are stereotypes a little, plus that foreign women might be entranced by foreign American men. But no doubt there is some truth these women are different from how American women are taught to be.

Have any of you gotten into learning about other cultures, seeing how women are in each one, and learning from that? Has it worked?

Edit: These replies have been very constructive and helpful, thank you. I am starting to see that I do not need to believe all the stereotypes and realize this is partly a fantasy for men as well and not all in reality, just with grains of truth. I need to focus on what is best for me and not obsess over this ideal. There is some good things but I should be more feminine in my own culture.

What I am realizing is that because of having some Eastern European relatives I am partly simply identifying strongly with that as it is part of my heritage and story. Maybe that is why when I read these things I feel interested, it is related to family, but I don't have to worry about believing everyone is perfect over there.

Thank you.
