This may be more for early stages of dating and relationship. Maybe some of you ladies have suggestions of when and how asking or hinting for commitment has worked for you. In my case it has never happened that way. I think it's better to let him decide and ask.

Do you think some things work differently, depending on what 'type' of girl you (mostly) are? For example, the 'siren' type, or the sweet 'girl next door.' I think if you're the classic wife material asking for commitment in some way could work better than if you're the femme fatale type. It's about working our natural allure.

There are examples of bad 'getting to know you' advice online, aimed towards women. Many of these can just trigger commitment fears and doubts. It's a sign of an over-involved woman! Not very desireable. Here are a few of those questions:

  • How do you feel about sharing your password with your partner?

  • Would you relocate for love?

  • What do you think of best friends of the opposite sex?

  • Do you usually stay friends with your exes?

  • What kind of parent do you think you'll be?

No, no and NO. Don't ask these types of questions. No one really knows the answer to them (especially men). They are circumstantial. Part of being pleasant company is not putting him on the spot.

It's always better to have him wonder -but not too much- if you want to commit to him, if you are seeing other guys who you may like just as much or better. It will bring out his masculine competitive instinct.

Of course, it has to be clear that you're really into him, otherwise it will be a case of playing too hard to get.

Please share your thoughts and any disagreements.
