Her use of that word just seems like an attempt to distract from the fact that she either said something incorrect, or said something that might be understood by certain people in very specific context.

Why wouldn’t she just explain her use of the word? The the pathetic attempt at an insult? Sounds like it’s an insecurity on her part...

I just encounterd this for the first time last night, I had some women half jokingly say to my wife "Oh did he have to mansplain it do you?" After my wife asked me a question, while I was talking to someone else, it was a misunderstanding, because I honestly didn't think by her facial expression that she knew what I was talking about. My wife even stated "Oh I thought you said something entirely different, I know what that is." But I guess it was just me being a sexist / misogynistic asshole?. I took the invitation to go into the living room and watch a college football game and leave the women to "women talk" AKA gossip.

In the past few years I've heard the following come out of this woman's mouth.

"Girls rule boys drool."

"Woman are the superior sex."

"Smart girl." Referring to a NFL player who's girlfriend got pregnant right before he signed a multimillion dollar contract / first round draft pick.

I honestly hate even socializing with this woman anymore, tired of her spounting of her feminist shit.

Unless I'm greatly mistaken, EDL cares not one little bit about the planetary status of the body one is to land on. It's used on planets, moons, even asteroids.

It's somewhat like Astronomers who consider 'metals' everything that is not hydrogen and helium. To an astronomer, oxygen is a metal. But you'd better be a bit more careful with your nomenclature in chemistry class.

People would have ripped in to a man just as bad for this “mistake”. Only difference is that men just have to suck it up and take the insults and don’t have terms like “mansplaining” to fall back on.

Love that. When men generalize about women, it's misogyny. When women generalize about men, and they do that endlessly (This is misogyny!), it's truthful. I could live with feminism if women weren't such hypocrites. (More misogyny.)

Really, just as opposing groups almost always find the other to be the source of all evil, I suspect that most misogyny in these times is a direct result of the misandry they keep telling us doesn't exist.
