"A neurologist who saw the results" doesn't sound very promising.

An infant's brain is never going to be what it was a week or especially a month ago, because of that whole "they're an infant and still developing rapidly" thing. There's also that case of someone running an MRI on a dead fish and getting results, so I'm a bit skeptical of getting too much information out of MRIs anyway (less so if there's a lot of subjects to make patterns clearer).

I thought there was a fairly solid timeline of how and when different cognitive faculties (things like "reasoning, perception, and emotions") develop, and that most don't show much at first. I'd also like to note that changing the catalog of sensory inputs ought to be expected to have some effect on perception.

I think I heard somewhere that experimenting on humans requires pesky things like review boards. Which this is, even if the experiment is just collecting extra data during a routine procedure. (Heck, there was even that case where someone wanted to study how much of a different having doctors follow checklists made, and that got blocked by a review board.)

Even more problematic is that because the study got shut down there's no actual way to cite this issue. The medical board called the whole team that attempted to publish their findings and basically threatened to strip all of them of their medical license and permanently blacklist them, citing that it's against the Canadian medical community's code of conduct to publish studies pointing out or emphasizing the downsides of circumcision due to canada's sociopolitcal climate leaning hard into appeasing minorities which includes cultures that practice MGM. It's quite literally hate speech to make circumcision look bad via studies in canada

I'm circumcised, also in a class that does work 1-2 years above it's level, get 70-100's always except for woodwork

My father is circumcised but he was one of the best students in the city in primary school and was although not as good, still amazing in highschool and Uni.
